Transfer approximately 2 g of the specimen, weighed to the nearest milligram, into a 250-mL Erlenmeyer flask and add 3 g of mercu- ric chloride. Displace the air from

10、 the flask with a continuous flow of carbon dioxide and add 100 mL of boiling water. Transfer to a steam bath for 10 min- utes and agitate frequently while continuing the flow of carbon dioxide. Cool, discontinue the flow of carbon dioxide, filter, and wach the residue with hot water, catching the f

11、iltrate in a beaker containing 25 mL of Zimmerman- Reinhardt reagent prepared as specified in 4.2.4.3(c) and 350 mL of water.
