REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Standard sample. When a standard sample is available (see 6.3), the cloth shall match th
7、e standard sample for shade and shall be equal to or better than the standard sample with respect to all characteristics for which the standard sample is referenced. 3.2 Material. .- 3.2.1 Fiber blend, 3.2.1.1 Polyester fiber. The fiber shall be polyethylene giycol terephthalate. The use of opticall
8、y brightened fiber for type I and type III, class 1 is per- mitted. Unless otherwise specified, the use of optically brightened fiber for type II and type III, class 2 is prohibited. 3.2.1.2 Rayon fiber. The fiber shall be rayon staple. The use of rayon waste of any kind is prohibited. * 3.2.2 m. Th
9、e warp and filling yarn shall be a blend of polyester staple fiber and rayon staple fiber of such proportions as to analyze not less than 65 percent nor more than 75 percent polyester fiber when tested as specified in 4.4. The color of the finished type I and type III, class 1, cloth shall be a bleached white conforming to.the stan
11、dard sample when tested as Specified. in the same manner. preferably with hydrogen peroxide or peroxygen chemicals. bleach may be supplemented with a blue-violet fluorescing optical brightener. When a standard sample is not available the dyed and finished cloth shall show not more than a slight trace of labile sulfur as defined in the test method when tested as specified in 4.4. 17、III, class 1 cloth shall show no more discoloration in light than that of the standard sample when tested as specified in 4.4. 3.4 Physical requirements. The minimum width (inclusive of the selvages) of the finished cloth shall be as specified (see 6.2). 3.6 Nonf ibrous materials. I 3.6.1 Type I and type III, class 1

23、 class 2 cloth I . shall be scoured, heat set, dyed and resin treated, and washed to provide a finish equal in character to that of the standard sample (see 6.7); treated cloth shall be processed at such a time and temperature cycle that will insure adequate curing of the resin, and shall be washed
24、thoroughly to remove all traces of uncured resin. The resin 3.8 ptI. 26、3.9.1 Type I and type III. The cloth shall be preshrunk so that it shall 3.9.2 Type II. 29、to the quality established by this specification. The demerit points per 100 square yards when calculated as spscified in section 4 shall not exceed the established maximum point value. - 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4,1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or
30、 purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of a11 inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, in the contract or order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified
31、 herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Certificate of compliance. Where cer
32、tificates of compliance are sub- mitted, the Government reserves the right to check test such items to determine the validity of the certification. * 4.2 Quality conformance inspection, Sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105, except where otherwise indicated herein
33、after. 4.2.1 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1 above, components and materials shall be inspected in accordance with all the requirements of referenced specifications, drawings and standards unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified or .qualified in this specification or a

43、.2 2 Examination for length. 4.2,2.2.1 Individual rolls. During the yard-by-yard examination, each roll in-the sample shall be examined for length. the minimum specified or more than two yards below the length marked on the ticket- shall be considered a defect-vith respect to length. unacceptable- i
44、f two or more rolls in the sample are defective in respect to length. The lot shall be unacceptable if the total of the actual lengths of rolls in the sample is less than the total of lengths marked on the ticket. Any length found to be less than The lot shall be 4.2.2.2.2 Total yardage in sample. *
45、 4.2.2.3 Examination for shade and finish. Each roll in the sample shall be examined visually for shade match (see 3.3.3) and finish (see 3.7). A roll shall be unacceptable if it fails to meet the requirements for shade match and finish. The sample unit shall be a 4-inch by 20-inch swatch of the clo
46、th. A sample unit shall be drawn from each roll in the lot, 4.2.2.4 Examination for identification of preshrinkage process and compliance with Textile Fiber Products Identification Act. During the yard-by-yard examination each roll in the sample shall be examined for these defects. lot shall be unac
47、ceptable if two or more rolls in the sample contain identi- fication of the preshrinkage process by name or trademark on the cloth or ticket, or are not labelled or ticketed in accordance with the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act. The 4.3 Examination of preparation for delivery requirements

An examination shall be made in accordance with the provisions of PPP-P-ll33 to determine that packaging, packing and marking comply with the section 5 requirements. wherever applicable and as listed in table II, shall be followed. and chemical values specified in section 3 apply to the results of
