This specification covers one type of airdrop extraction force transfer coupling assembly, consisting of an actuatory assembly, latch assembly, link assembly, cable assembly, latch assembly adapter and link assembly adapter. 1.2 Class

13、First.article. When specified (see.6.2), the contractor shall furnish a sample for first article inspection and approval (see 4.3 and 6.3). 3.2 Materials and construction. Components of the coupling assembly shall conform to the materials, construction and supplementary processes shown or specified

14、on the Drawing 11-1-2060 and detail drawings subsidiary thereto (see 6.5). - 3.3 Performance. 3.3.1 Latch, latch adapter, link and link adapter assemblies. 3.3.1.1 Proofload. The latch, latch adapter, link and link adapter (when provided) assemblies shall show no evidence of release, failure or visi

15、ble permanent deformation when subjected to 60,000 pounds (266,890 N) proofload as specified in 4.5.2.1. 3.3.1.2 Function. The force applied to the catch component of the latch assembly to effect release and separation of the link shall be within the range of 15 to 45 pounds (67 to 200 N) with the a

16、ssemblies under 50,000 pounds (222,410 N) tension load, and not be less than 8 pounds (36 N) on reduction . of the tension load to 50 pounds (222 N) . Assemblies tested in 4.5.2.2 shali show no evidence of premature release, component failure, or loosening of friction pads in sideplates of the latch

The components retainer hook, side plates, idler link, catch, lock link, pins and idler link sleeves of latch assembly and cam of link assembly subjected to funct

18、ional tests, shall show no evidence of failure or visible permanent deformation beyond allowable limits as set forth on component parts drawings and as may result from local brinelling of impacting surfaces when examined as specified in 4.5.2.3. 3.3.2 Actuator assembly, function, 3.3.2.1 Spring outp

19、ut. The actuator assembly shall deliver an output force within the range of 200 to 300 pounds (890 to 1335 N) without evidence of failure or malfunction when tested as specified in 4.8.1.1. 3.3.2.2 Cyclic, When cycled as specified in 4.8.1.2 the actuator arm shall rotate freely and latch securely. a

20、ctuator stop block shall show no evidence of failure or permanent deformation, except as allowed by the dimensional limits o.n the drawing for the arm, and as may result from local brinelling of impacting surfaces. The wire rope, conduit, terminal fittings and strain relief shall show no evidence of failure, slippage or visible permanent deformation when subjected to proofloads speci-fied on the drawings, when tested ils specified in 4.8.2.1. 3.3.3.2 Friction loss. Friction loss shall conform to the requi

22、rements of Drawing 11-1-2061 when tested as specified in .4.8.2.2. 3.4 Workmanship. All components and assemblies of the extractionforce coupling shall be free of any rust or corrosion, dirt and other foreign matter. External surfaces shall be free from sharp edges or burrs. Components shall not be

23、fractured, cracked, buckled, loose, dented, missing, malformed or misaligned. 4. 24、ssure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. O 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are c1assified.a follows: 1. 2. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4). First article inspection (see 4.3). 4.3 First article. When a first article is r

25、equired (see 6.21, the complete coupling or cable assembly, as applicable, shall be examined for defects in table I and tested for performance requirements per 4.5.2 and 4.8 tests, as specified . 4.4 Quality conformance inspection. Except as otherwise specified herein, sampling for inspection shall

26、be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4.1 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1, components and materials shall be inspected in accordance with all the requirements of referenced specifications, drawings, -and standards unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified or qua

27、lified in this specification or applicable purchase document. 4.4.2 In-process inspection. Inspection shall be made at appropriate stages of fabrication to determine conformance to the requirements of this specifi- . cation. The Government reserves the right to exclude from consideration for accepta

28、nce any materials for which in-process inspection has indicated non- conformance. 4.4.2.1 Heat treatment examination. Heat treated components shall be inspected to determine compliance with requirements specified on the applicable drawings. The provisions of MIL-H-6875, applicable to routine quality

29、 control, shall apply, except that batch sampling with an inspection level of S-4 and an AQL of 1.0 (percent defective) applies. 4.4.2.2 Magnetic particle inspection. Each latch and link component and the arm of the actuator assembly, Part Number 11-1-1746, shall be inspected in accor- dance with MI

30、L-1-6868 for determination of compliance with drawing requirements, Each latch and actuator assembly shall be inspected during assembly for determination of compliance with assembly requirements specified on the applicable drawings that are not susceptible to inspection after assembly. ny nonconform

The sample unit for this inspection shall be one link, latch adapter, link adapter, latch, actuator or cabl

32、e assembly, as applicable (see 3.2). Lots shall be expressed in units of components of one kind for each separately procured component of the coupling assembly. inspection level shall be S-1 with an AQL of 4.0 expressed in terms of percent defective. 4.4.3.1 Visual examination, An examination shall

33、be made of the components for defects listed in table 1. The inspection level shall be I with an acceptable quality level (AQL) of 1.0 for major defects and 6.5 for total defects, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units. The . TABLE I. With each latch and link rigged as specified above for proofload, a suitable means for application and readout of release force shall be attached to the catch component of the latch in a manner simi

38、lar to that in which the cable assembly would normally be attached. A load of 50,000 pounds (222,410 N) shall then be applied in the manner specified above for proofload, a separate tension force applied to the catch until release occurs, and the force required to effect release recorded, (b) Low re

39、lease load. Procedure shall be as specified in (a) above except the load shall be 50 pounds (222 N). (c) The high and low release load tests, (a) and (b) above, shall be repeated in sequence, a second time. release load tests to conform to the requirements of 3.3.1.2 shall require repeating (a) and

40、(b) a third time, Failure of either the high or low release load test to.conform to 3.3.1.2 when performed the third time shall be cause for rejection of the latch and link. Failure of either or both high or low 4.5,2.3 Nondestructive. Selected latch and link combinations shall be dis- assembled and

41、 the components thereof specified in 3.3.1.3 reinspected as speci- fied in 4.4.2.2 for any evidence of test .induced cracks, and the hook, catch, idler links and pins dimensionally inspected for deformation beyond allowable limits. . 42、ts, shall be causefor rejection of the lot from which the sample was selected. 4.6 Inspection of packaging. An examination shall be made to determine that the preservation-packaging, packing and marking complies with section 5 requirements. for delivery except that it need not be closed. and defects

43、 applicable thereto shall be as listed in table II. closure defects shall be made on shipping containers fully prepared for delivery. The inspection level shall be S-2 with an AQL of 4.0 expressed in terms of defects per hundred units. The sample unit shall be one shipping container fully prepared C
