In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. Nothing in t

15、his document , however y supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first: article inspection (see 6.3) in accordance with 4.3. 3.2 Guide samples. Guide samples,

16、 when furnished, are solely for guidance and information (see 6.4). samples, in which case the document shall govern. Variations from the document may appear in the 3.3 Materials. The materials shall be as specified on Drawing 2-10-443 and all subsidiary drawings and parts lists pertaining thereto.

17、It is encouraged that recycled material be used when practical as long as it meets the require- ments of this specification. 3.4 Design and construction. The design and construction of the canteen shall conform to the design, shape and dimensions shown on Drawing 2-10-443 and as specified herein. 3.

18、4.1 Body weldment. The body weldment shall consist of the upper and lower parts of the body with threaded neck, less cap assembly. The body weldment shall be fabricated from corrosion-resisting steel specified on Drawing 2-10-445 and 2-10-446. The body weldment shall be free from pipe, crack, seam,

19、pit, and lap. 3.4.2 Cap assembly. The cap shall conform to the requirements specified in MIL-C-5 12 78. 3.5 Finish. The canteen shall be given a uniform frosted lusterless finish approximating a commercial 2D sheet finish and passivated in accordance with QQ-P-35. There shall be no evidence of rusti

The end item shall conform to the quality of product established by this specification and the oc

21、currence of defects shall not exceed the applicable acceptable quality levels. The completely finished canteen shall be thoroughly clean and free from pit, dig, burr, fin, dents, cracks, sliver, machine tool or dye mark, and foreign matter. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for insp

22、ection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any

23、other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and

24、services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program, The absence of any inspecti

25、on requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable pr

26、actice to ascertain conformance to the requirements, however, this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. 4.1.2 Responsibility for dimensional requirements. Unless otherwise speci- fied in

27、 the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for ensuring that all specified dimensions have been met. When dimensions cannot be examined on the end item, inspection shall be made at any point or at all points in the manufacturing process necessary to assure compliance with all dim

28、ensional requirements. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.3). b. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.3 First article inspection. When a first article is required (see 3.1 and 6.21, it s

29、hall be examined for the defects specified in 4.4.2 and 4.4.3 and tested for the characteristics specified in 4.4.4. The presence of any defect or failure to pass any test shall be cause for rejection of the first article. 4.4 Quality conformance inspection. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for

In accordance with 4.1, components and materials shall be inspected iri accordance with all the r

31、equirements of referenced documents unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified, or qualified in this specification or applicable purchase document, 4.4.2 End item visual examination. The end items shall be examined for the defects listed in table I. The lot size shall be expressed in units of cant

32、eens. The sample unit shall be one canteen. The inspection level shall be II and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 1.0 for major defects, 4.0 for major and minor A combined defects, and 15.0 for total (major, minor A and minor B combined) d

The periscope shall be equipped with an electric light and mirror. The mirror shall be capable of being rotated a minimum of 180 degrees.

39、The instrument shall be of such size that it will pass through the neck of the canteen (after removal of the adapter). The light shall be of sufficient power to adequately illuminate the interior surface of the canteen. 4.4.3 End item dimensional examination. The end items shall be examined for conf

40、ormance to the dimensions specified on the drawings that can be determined .on the end items without damaging or disassembling the end items. not within the specified tolerance shall be classified as a defect. The lot size shall be expressed in units of canteens. The sample unit shall be one canteen

41、. The inspection level shall be S-2 and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 4.0. 42、rmance to the corrosion-resistance requirement in 3.5. canteen shall be exposed to a relative humidity of 90 to 100 percent at 72O + 2OF for not less than 16 hours and then examined on both interior and exterior surfaces. Any evidence of rusting, staining, pitting, or spotting shall constitute a def

43、ect. The lot size shall be expressed in units of canteens. The sample unit shall be one canteen. Each canteen, with cap secured in place, shall be unit packed in a fiberboard box conforming to style OPF or FOL, type CF, class domestic, variety optional of PPP-B-636, The inside dimensions of the box shall be approximately 5-718 inches in length, 2-314 inches in width, and 8-112 inches in depth.
