Nothing in this specification, however, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemp
14、tion has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials. Materials and parts shall be in accordance with the applicable drawings, specifications and standards. 3.2 Assembly. The assembly shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing (Dwg.) 8830948, and with all requirements specified in appl
15、icable specifications and standards. 3.3 Moisture content of the lead azide. The moisture content of the lead azide at the loading station, at the time of loadina the blasting caps shall not exceed 0.50 percent whentested as specified in 4.5.1. 3.4 Impact resistance. The cap shall not detonate, the
16、cup shall not crack or break, or the charge loosen or drop out during impact testing when tested as specified in 4.5.2. 3.5 Output functioninq after impact test. The caps shall detonate completely as evidenced by the perforation of the lead discs when tested as specified in 4.5.3. 3.6 First article
17、inspection. This specification contains technical provisions for first article inspection. Requirements for the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be as specified in the contract. 3.7 WorkmanshiE. All parts and assemblies shall be fabricated and loaded in a thorough, workman
18、like manner; and all manufacturing, processing, and assembling operations shall be correctly performed. They shall be clean and free of burrs, sharp edges, unblended radii, cracks, gouges, surface defects, chips, dirt, grease, and oil (except where specifically required), corrosion, and other foreig

Unless otherwise specified herein or in the contract, the provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall apply and are hereby made a part of this detail specification. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The following types of inspections shall be conducted on this item: F a. First article inspection
22、. b. Quality conformance inspection. 4.3 First article inspection. 4.3.1 Submission. The contractor shall submit a first article sample as designated by the Contracting Officer for evaluation in accordance with provisions of 4.3.2. consist of twenty-five (25) cups and 125 loaded assemblies. Inspection lots shall comply with the lot formation provisions of MIL-A-48078. In a
26、ddition, inspection lots of caps shall contain: a. Cups from one supplier. b. RDX from not more than one lot. c. Lead styphnate from not more than one lot. d. Lead azide of the same type from not more than two lots produced by the same manufacturer in accordance with the same specification and same
27、specification revision and which have subsequently been subjected to uniformly controlled drying and operating conditions at the loading plant. e. Certificates of findings (certificates of analysis) on all charge powders and the ignition mix and certificates of conformance on all remaining materials
28、 purchased by the contractor when such material is controlled by Government or commerical specifications referenced in any of the contractual documents. 4.4.2 Examination. (See MIL-A-48078). Major defect. - The co
35、ntractor shall provide adequate controls to insure that the lead azide complies with the requirement. For verification, the contractor shall select and test a sample from that quantity of lead azide used in each eight hours of loading production. A composite sample shall not be used. If the moisture
36、 content of a sample exceeds the requirement and loading has not begun, the lead azide represented by the sample shall be rejected. If components have been loaded with lead azide containing excessive moisture, the remaining unloaded lead azide and the loaded components shall be rejected. The test pr
37、ocedure shall be as specified in 4.5.1. 4.4.3.2 Impact resistance (see 3.4 and Table II). Blasting cap fails to fire Major 4.4.3.2.1 Beginning with the first lot produced and continuing until three (3) consecutive lots have complied with the specified requirements, one hundred and twenty-five (125) blasting caps shall be selected from each lot f
39、or test. The lot shal be rejected if a critical defect occurs or if three or more assemblies exhibit a (b) or (c) major defect listed in Table II. The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.2 using equipment in accordance with 4.4.4. Following this test, the Functioning after Impact Test: shall
40、 be performed as specified in 4.4.3.3.1. 4.4.3.2.2 After three (3) consecutive lots have been accepted in accordance with the criteria of 4.4.3.2.1 and 4.4.3.3.1, a sample of fifty (50) blasting caps shall be selected from each lot for test. The lot shall be rejected if a critical defect occurs or i
41、f two (2) or more assemblies exhibit (b) or (c) major defectives (see Table II). The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.2 using equipment in accordance with 4.4.4. The lot shall be rejected if - the total
43、number of major defectives (see Table II) found in the two tests (d and e) is three (3) or more. The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.3. 4.4.3.3.2 The blasting caps selected for the test specified in 4.4.3.2.2 shall be used for this test. The lot shall be rejected if the total number of m
44、ajor defectives (see Table II) found in the two tests (d and e) is two (2) or more. The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.3. 4.4.4 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required to perform the inspections and tests prescribed in this specification is identified in the Paragraph Re
45、ference/Inspection Method column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1, and the test method paragraph (see 4.5). The contractor shall submit for approval, inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078, and 6.3 herein. -4 4.4.5 Warning
46、. This specification contains sampling procedures and tests which involve materiel potentially hazardous to personnel. It is emphasized that all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulator- requirements be strictly followed during the handling, processing and testing of these blasting caps. Ha
47、zardous component safety data sheets contained in the technical data package contain specific safety-related information. 4.5 Methods of inspection. 4.5.1 Moisture content of lead azide. The moisture content of the lead azide shall be determined in accordance with Method 101.5 of MIL-STD-650, except
48、 that a two-gram (gr.) sample shall be tested and the dish shall be covered with a sheet of polytetrafluoroethylene. -“ 4.5.2 Impact resistance. 4.5.2.1 Apparatus and Set-up procedures. The apparatus shall consist of the following : a. Galvanized iron pip. 1-9/16 inch I.D. x 7 feet long. b. One pull
49、ey to fit the rope. c. Rope, length to suit. d. Anvil, steel 12 inches square x 3 inches thick, minimum. e. Weight, cylindrical, steel, 1-3/8 inch diameter x 14 inches loqg, weighing 5.3 pounds approximately, with an eyelet at one end for rope attachment. f.
