This specification covers quality assurance provisions and preparation for delivery for Charges, Demolition, TNT, Block, 1/4 Pound, 1/2 Pound, and 1 Pound. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Gover

Unless otherwise specified (see 6.11, the following specifications and standards of the issue listed in that issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) specified in the solicitation, form a part of this speci

Testing is described in the First article and Quality Conformance Inspection tables. 4.4.4 Submission of product. At the time the completed lot of product is submi

10、tted to the Government for acceptance, the contractor shall supply the following information accompanied by a certificate which attests that the information provided is correct and applicable to the product being submitted: a. A statement that the lot complies with all the quality assurance provisio

11、ns specified within this specification. b. Number of units of product inspected. c. Results obtained for all inspections performed. d. Drawing, specification number and date, together with an e. Certificates of conformance on all material purchased by identification and date of changes. the contract

12、or when such material is controlled by Government or commercial specifications referenced in any of the contractual documents. f. Number of items in the lot. g. Date submitted. The certificate shall be signed by a responsible agent of the certifying organization. The initial certificate submitted sh

13、all be substantiated by evidence of the agents authority to bind his principal. Substantiation of the agents authority will not be required with subsequent certificates unless, during the course of the contract, this authority is vested in another agent of the certifying organization. 4.4.5 Dimensio

14、nal control of molded parts. In place of the normal sampling associated with the Classification of Defects, and with the approval of the Contracting Officer, and after a curing time for the parts has been approved (See Note), a sample of three (3) parts (as molded) from each cavity may be dimensiona

15、lly inspected to qualify a new or reworked cavity for use in production or as a control of each cavity during production. The inspection of the parts shall be performed only when the curing time for the parts has been reached. The inspection for control of each cavity during production shall be perf

16、ormed on the above quantities from each cavity after production of each 5000 parts or at the end of each shift, providing the number of parts produced during that shift is less than 5000 parts. Of the three (3) samples, one (i) sample shall be the last part produced. Parts that fail to comply with d

17、imensional requirements after dimensional stability has been attained shall be classed defective. If any defective parts are found during qualification of the cavity, the cavity producing the defective part will not be used in production. If any defective parts are found when inspection is 18 -_ Pro

Further, that portion of production since the last control check shall be r

19、eturned to the contractor for corrective action. All cavities formerly removed from production because of some fault may, after reworking, be returned to production providing they pass the qualification test as above. The contractor may request a change of inspection frequency providing he presents

20、objective evidence to substantiate the request to the Contracting Officer . NOTE: Curing time shall be established by dimensionally checking ten (10) parts from each cavity at periodic intervals (e.g., every 30 minr 60 min, etc.), until dimensional stability is attained. Te curing time will be from

21、the time the part comes out of the mold until dimensional stability is attained. The inspection data used in determining the curing time shall be sent to U.S. Army Armament Research and Development Command (ARRADCOM), Dover, NJ 07801, ATTN: DRDAR-QAT-M. If there is a change in material, cycle time,

22、or if a cavity is reworked, or a new cavity is used, a new curing time shall be established and approved. 4.4.6 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required to perform the inspections and tests prescribed in this specification is identified in the “Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method“ c

23、olumn in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1, and the test method paragraph (See 4.5). The contractor shall submit for approval inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078 and 6.2 herein. WARNING. This specification covers sampling a

24、nd testing of explosive materials which are potentially hazardous to personnel. Accordingly, it is emphasized that all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures must be followed in handling and processing these materials. 4.5 Methods of inspection. 4.5.1 Specific gravity of charge. The spe

25、cific gravity of the explosive charge shall be determined as follows: All weiqht determinations-shall be made on a suitable laboratory balance accurate to 0.1 gram. The pellet or pellets (as applicable) shall be removed from the container and weighed in air. The pellet or individual pellets shall be

26、 coated lightly with paraffin. The pellet or pellets shall be reweighed in air. The pellet shall be suspended (in case there is more than one pellet per charge, each individual pellet shall be suspended and the weights shall be added) from the balance by a fine thread, and weighed while submerged in

27、 water ascertaining that the hole for the blasting cap is completely filled with water. The temperature of the water shall be noted, and maintained within 1 degree Celsius during the determination. The assembly shall be tested using applicable test equipment and the specified force applied to both ends in

30、 a direction so as to tend to separate the ends from the body. 4.5.3 Pull test of heat sealed cap. The assembly shall be tested using applicable test equipment which holds the body, and applies the specified force in a direction so as to pull the cap from the body. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation - pa

31、ckaging. (Not applicable) - 5.2 Packing. 5.2.1 Level A. The demolition assemblies shall be packed in 5.2.2 Level B. Packing shall be as Specified in Level A. accordance with Dwg. 8797739 or 8799162, as applicable. 5.2.3 Level C. Packing shall be as specified in Level A. 5.3 Marking. Marking shall be

32、 in accordance with Dwg. 8797739 or 8799162, as applicable. 5.4 Shipping. When components from more than one lot are shipped at one time, each lot shall be kept separate, and the division between lots clearly indicated to prevent mixing of the lots in transit. 6. NOTES 6.1 Ordering data. See MIL-A-4

(See MIL-A-48018 1 . Equipment designs shall be submitted as required to: Commander, U.S. Army Armament Research a

34、nd Development Command, ATTN: DRDAR-QAT-I, Dover, New Jersey, 07801. Request letter of submittal should state contractor, contract number, specification number, item nomenclature, and classification of defects and tests paragraph number. 6.3 Data cards. (See MIL-A-48078). Distribution of data cards

35、shall include the following: Commander, U.S. Army Armament Research and Development Command , ATTN: DRDAR-QAT-MI Dover New Jersey 07801. 6.4 Drawings. Drawings listed in Section 2 of this specification under the heading US Army Armament Research and Development Command (ARRADCOM) may also include dr

36、awings prepared by, and identified as, Edgewood Arsenal, Frankford Arsenal, Rock Island Arsenal or Picatinny Arsenal drawings. Technical data originally prepared by these activities are now under the cognizance of ARRADCOM. 6.5 International standardization agreement. Certain portions of this specif

37、ication are the subject of international standardization agreement (STANAG No. 2818). When amendment, revision, or cancellation of this specification is proposed which will affect or violate the international agreement concerned, the preparing activity will take appropriate reconciliation action thr

38、ough international standardization channels including departmental standardization offices, if required. 6.6 Changes from previous issue. Asterisks are not used in this revision to identify changes with respect to the previous issue, due to the extensiveness of the changes.
