6、of empty metal canister body assemblies shall be packed together in an economical and efficient manner which will assure delivery of the canister body assemblies to a first receiving activity in an undamaged condition. Interlocking fiberboard partitions shall be used to separate the canister body as
7、semblies from each other. In addition, full size fiberboard separator pads shall be used, as required,.to separate any layers of canister body assemblies. The partitions and separator pads shall be constructed from material conforming to grade V3c of PPP-F-320. The above can- ister, partitions, and
8、separators (when used) shall then be encased in a pro- tective bag conforming to type I, class By style 2 of MIL-B-117.and heat sealed closed in accordance with the requirements specified therein. Volatile Corro- sion Inhibitor (VCI) paper conforming to MIL-P-3420 shall be included within the protec
9、tive bag as follows: the bagged assembly, between the bag and the bottom of the canister assembly. One full sheet shall be placed at the top of the bagged assembly, between the bag and the top of the canister assembly. When items are packaged in multiple tiers or layers, all faces of the separators
10、shall be lined with the VCI- treated material.
