REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Material. Material and parts shall be in accordance 3.1.1 Clean explosive scrap. Clean explosive scr

12、s shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing (dwg.) 9289185 and with all requi remen ts spec if i ed in applicable spec if icat ions. 3.3 Cavitation in high explosive charge. 3.3.1 Projected cavities. Cavities having a projected length of 1/32 inch (in.) or less shall be disregarded, Ca

The muzzle velocity for the cartridge, fired at 7OoF, shall not be more than 2195 feet per second nor less than 2145 feet per second and the standard deviation of the lot shall not be greater than 8 feet per secon (1.22 meters per second). 3.4.3.4 Pressure. The pressure of the cartridge, fired at

26、 70F, shall not produce a chamber pressure greater than 47,000 psi. 3.5 Radiographic film. Only a film type and vendor as listed herein has been tested and approved by the U.S. Army Armament Research and Development Command for use in radio- graphing this projectile. See MIL-A-48078. a. Sampling plans. Unless otherwise specified in the Classificatian of Defects and Test tabl

37、es, sampling plans and procedures for major and minor defects shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105, Inspection Level II. The contractor may elect to perform 100% inspection with automated equipment in lieu of sampling inspection for defects listed in this specification. In such cases, calibration

38、 plans shall be submitted to the Technical Agency (see 6.15) for approval for each automatic inspection station. The plans shall identify: (i) the frequency (production interval) for validating equipment functioning (2) the methods and procedures for validation including designs of defect standards

39、and (3) a description of material control procedures to be imposed on a product passing through each automated station during the provisions final acceptance will be withheld from material produced during a production interval until satisfactory val.idation of each of the automated stations so contr

40、olled. In the event of a validation fail.ure of any station, the material processed through such station since the last acceptance validation shall be placed in a rejected status pending corrective action. Under certain circumstances, and for sufficient cause, the contractor may request. the governm

41、ents permission to use process controls or process inspections in lieu of the produzt inspections contained herein. If the total :lasped time between original acceptance of the M28 primer lot and the assembly of

47、 that lot into complete round cartridges exceeds two years, or if the M28 primers have been subjected to adverse conditions, however brief, at any time since previous tests, the applicable lot shall be subjected to and must satisfactorily pass tiie check test for deterioration.specified in Specifica

48、tion MIL-P-46565 immediately before the M28 primer lot is assembled into the cartridges. The test shall be performed by the contractor on assemblies selected by the Government inspector at the facility assembling the complete cartridges (see 6.6). 4.3.3.2 cavitation (see 3.3, except 3.3.2). Cavitati

49、on defects are classified as follows: 3 Critical: 1. Cavitation, (including porous areas), cracks, or 2. Cracks in excess of that permitted in 3.3.4. 3. Base separation in excess of that permitted by 3.3.5. annular rings in Segment A, R, C, or D in excess of that permitted in Table I. The sampling plan and procedures for this test shall be in
