9、QUIREMENTS 3.1 First article inspection. Requirements for the submission of first article samples shall be as specified in the contract. Unless otherwise specified, the first article shall include the pilot pack. 3.2 Material. Materials shall be in accordance with the applicable drawings and specifi

11、9779906 0350776 7 W MIL-C-63450 cml 3.4 Bullet extraction. The force necessary to extract the bullet from the cartridge case shall be not less than 20 pounds. 3.5 Residual stress. The cartridge case shall not split when subjected to one percent mercurous nitrate solution for 15 minutes. 3.6 Accuracy
12、. The average extreme spread of all targets, each target containing 14 shots fired at 600 yards, shall not exceed 8.0 inches . 3.7 Velocity. The average velocity of the sample cartridge, conditioned at 700 + 2O Fahrenheit (F), shall be 2,550 feet per second (ft/sec) plug or minus 30 ft/sec, at 78 fe
13、et from the muzzle of the weapon. The standard deviation of the velocities shall not exceed 28 f t/sec . 3.8 Chamber pressure. The average chamber pressure of the sample cartridges conditioned at 70F + 2OF, shall not exceed 50,000 pounds per square inch (psi). sample cartridge, nor the average chamb
14、er pressure of the sample cartridges plus three standard deviations of chamber pressure shall not exceed 55,000 psi. Neither-the chamber pressure of an individual 3.9 Port pressure. 15、n and casualty. The cartridge shall function without casualty. 3.11 Grain configuration. The grain configuration of the sidewall of the finished cartridge case shall fall within the range defined by the grain configuration standards illustrated in MIL-STD-1170, Figures 1 through 6. 3.12 Workmanship.
16、 The requirements for workmanship are as specifisd on the applicable drawings, referenced specifications and the following: 3.12.1 Metal defects. The cartridge shall he free of folds, wrinkles, deep draw scratches, scaly metal, dents and other defects. 3.12.2 Foreign matter. The cartridge shall be f

The inspection equipment required to perform the examination and test prescribed herein is described in the Paragraph Reference/Inspection method column in the tables starting with Paragraph 4
38、.4.2.1. equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078 and 6.2 herein. The contractor shall submit for approval inspection 4.4.4.1 Index of inspection equipment list. The examination tests shall be made using equipment listed on LI 9341551. 4.5 Test meth
39、ods and procedures. 4.5.1 Rullet extraction. The test shall be conducted in accordance with SCATP 7.62MM. 4.5.2 Residual stress (Mercurous Nitrate). The test shall be conducted in accordance with SCATP 7 . 621M. 4.5.3 Accuracy. The test shall be conducted in accordance with SCATP 7.62MM. 4.5.4 Veloc
40、ity. The test shall be conducted in accordance with SCATP 7.62MM. 4.5.5 Chamber pressure. The test shall he conducted in accordance with procedures referenced in LI 9341551. 4.5.6 Port pressure. The test shall be conducted in accordance with SCATP 7.62bM. 4.5.7 Function and casualty. The test shall
41、be conducted in accordance with SCATP 7.62MM, except that all firings shall be semi- automatic. Two rifles shall be used, and one-half of the cartridges shall be fired in each weapon. 4.5.8 Grain configuration. The test samples shall be prepared and evaluated in accordance with MIL-STD-1170, 4.5.9 H

In any ballistic test, except function and casualty, In which the occurrence of a firing defect listed in Table III prevents the obtaining of a reliable result for the characteristic being tested, an additional shot shall be fired. That particular test shall not be penalized, but the total ballist

If for any reason the proving ground . considers that the test conditions have detrimentally affected the test results, the test shall be declared invalid and a new test shall be performed with additio
46、nal samples. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packing. Level A (World Wide Shipment). The cartridges shall be packed in accordance with Drawing 9341748, 9341749 and 9341750. 5.2 Marking and labeling. Packing boxes shall be marked and labeled in accordance with the applicable drawings cited in 5.1. 6.
