Fabrication of container base and cover shell configuration shall be documented on a glass kit schedule for primary laminates as defined on Drawing 12564879. As a minimum, the glass kit shall define, for each layer, the sequence of app

7、lication, material description, location, orientation, size, quantity, weight, and overlap of converging layers. The glass kit shall be prepared for each container cover and base shell and documented to record part number, approved revision(s) and date(s). The glass kit schedule and any changes ther

8、eto, shall be submitted in writing to the contracting officer or the procuring agency for approval prior to its use in shell fabrication for first article samples and production units. A traveler record shall be maintained which is integral or supplemental to the glass kit. Follow-on production prog

It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to assure that approved glass kit schedules are being followed by qualified per

11、sonnel in the fabrication of container shells and installation of interior dunnage. At each in-process and final inspection level, traveler record shall be kept for each shell or cover processed through secondary lamination which records the date and personnel who performed each process or inspectio

12、n operation. 3.4.3 Rexiair Drocedure . When necessary and not prohibited by contract, the contractor shall prepare repair procedure for laminates detailing applicable factors of 3.4.1. The procedure shall also include preparation of surface to be repaired, finish after repair, and inspection to ensu

13、re removal of defects. Repair procedures shall apply only to defects greater than allowed in Drawing 12564879. in writing by the Government or procuring activity is required prior to use of repair procedures. Prior to production and as part of first article, workmanchip samples shall be taken and examined for compliance to 3.5

24、.1 and 3.5.2 and dimensionally for thickness. Each destructive test as specified in Drawing 12564879 shall first be performed on the base shell and then on the cover shell. All samples for destructive testing shall be taken along the O0 axis of the triaxial cloth. Sections shall also be taken at bra

25、cket secondary lamination as specified on the applicable drawing. Workmanship sp.ecimens shall be labeled by part number and section description. The specimens shall be retained as a standard for later use in maintaining good workmanship during production. If any of the specimens fail to meet the re

Samples

27、cut from the first article base and cover shall be tested for compression strength, tensile strength, and flexural strength according to the test methods specified in Drawing 12564879. Five specimens shall be taken from each cover and base to do each test. The average of the measured values shall be

28、 compared to the minimum physical property value listed in Drawing 12564879. If any of the average values fails to meet the requirement, the container lot shall be rejected. 4.5.9 Laminate hardness tests . The container laminate shall be tested for Barco1 hardness according to the test method in Dra

29、wing 12564879 to verify requirement of 3.3.4. 4.5.10 ,J,atch mec- . The latch assemblies on the container shall require no more than 30 pounds force to open and close. The force shall be applied and measured within one inch of each latch lever end in a direction perpendicular to the latch lever. The

30、 latch nuts shall be torqued to 100 + 20 inch pounds in the closed position prior to testing. The container shall be tested at ambient temperature and pressure. 4.5.11 -e weight test . The container laminate shall have a total glass fiber and triaxial content of 42-53% by weight when tested in accor

31、dance with ASTM D2584.“ The margins of this amendment are marked with an asterisk or vertical lines to indicate where changes (additions, modifica- tions, corrections, deletions) from the previous amendment were made. This was done as a convenience only and the Government assumes no liability whatso

32、ever for any inaccuracies in these notations. Bidders and contractors are cautioned to evaluate the requirements of this document based on the entire content irrespective of the marginal notations and relationship to the last previous amendment.
