2、lable for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification contains requirements not covered by the drawings and provides quality assurance provisions for the fabrication of parts, assembly and packing for M80 Explosive Detonation Simulator. 2.

3、 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Government documents. 2.1.1 Specifications and standards. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2) , the following specifications and standards of the issue listed in that issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) specified in the solicit

4、ation, form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and t

10、he references cited herein, the text of this specification shall take precedence. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials. Materials and parts shall be in accordance with applicable drawings and specifications. 3.2 Assembly. The assembly shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing (dwg.) 9234991 a

11、nd with all requirements specified on applicable specifications. 3.3 Moisture content. 3.3.1 Charge composition. The moisture content of the charge . composition at the loading station at the time of loading the assembly shall not be more than 0.50 percent when tested in accordance with paragraph 4.

12、4.3.1. paper and paper products at the loading station at the time of loading shall be not more than 6.0 percent. 3.3.2 Paper and paper products. 13、0LL03 MIL-D-20505D (AR) 3.4 Functioninq. The assembly shall function and comply with 3.4.1 Premature. The assembly shall not function in less than the following requirements. three (3) seconds after initiation of the fuse. 3.4.2 Sound level intensity. The assembly shall produce a peak sound level in

14、tensity of 105 decibels minimum (min.). 3.5 Sensitivity. The assembly shall show no evidence of ignition or detonation when subjected to a weight of not less than five (5) pounds dropped from a height of two (2) feet, min. when tested as specified in 4.5.3. 3.6 Jumble test. The assembly shall show n

15、o evidence of loose powder and shall comply with the requirements of MIL-STD-331, Test 102. 3.7 Quick leak test. The packed box sealed in the barrier bag shall show no evidence of air or water leakage when tested as specified in 4.5.6. 3.8 First article inspection. This specification makes provision

16、s for first article inspection. Requirements for the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be as specified in the contract. 3.9 Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall be fabricated and loaded in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall be free of tears, fractures and for

17、eign matter. All required markings shall be neat and sharply defined. All parts shall be dry. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection and standard qualit assurance provisions. Unless otherwise specified herein o: in the contract, the provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall apply an

30、D (AR) 4.4.3 Testing. The jumble test and fuctioning tests specified herein shall be performed at an authorized test facility. PRECAUTION. The composition charge is extremely sensi tive to initiation by friction, impact and static electricity. Take appro- priate precautions in all handling, processi

31、ng and storage involving this composition. 0 4.4.3.1 Moisture content. 4.4.3.1.1 Charge composition. (See 3.3.1) Major Defect - Paper and Paper Products (see 3.3.2) Major Defect. The contractor shall provide adequate controls to assure that the materials comply with the applicable requirements. For

32、verification, the contractor shall select and subject to test one sample of each material from each eight (8) hours production. A composite sample shall not be used. If the moisture content of a sample exceeds the requirements and loading has not begun, the material represented by the sample shall b

33、e rejected. If components have been loaded with a material containing excessive moisture, the loaded cmponents shall be rejected. The determination shall be as specified in 4.5.1.1. Since blending of the charge composition is accomplished in the simulator, a sample of sufficient size shall be taken

34、from a iidummy“ body used in conjunction with the loading of the simulators for determination of moisture. 4.4.3.1.2 Cmplete assembly. (See Dwg. 9234991) - Major Defect. A sample of 50 assemblies shall be selected from each lot for this determination. If one or more assemblies fail to comply with th

35、e requirement specified, the lot shall be rejected. The determination shall be as specified in 4.5.1.3. 4.4.3.2 Charge composition analysis. (See Dwg. 9234992) - Major Defect. This determination shall be conducted on the same sample selected for determination of moisture content. If the sample fails

36、 to comply with the requirements specified, the lot shall be rejected. The determination shall be as specified in 4.5.2. 0 4.4.3.3 Sensitivit . (See 3.5) - Major Defect. A sample of five (5) assemblies + s all be selected from each lot for this test. If any assembly fails to comply with the requirem

37、ent specified, the lot shall be rejected. The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.3. 4.4.3.4 Jumble test. (See 3.6) - Critical Defect. A sample of five (5) boxes ot 50 each simulators, packed and sealed in accordance with the instructions detailed on Dwg. 8853677, shall be selected for this

38、test and each sealed package of 50 simulators tested individually. Following testing, each carton shall be opened and the contents examined. The lot shall be rejected if any simulator fails to comply with the requirements. The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.4. e 15 Provided by IHSNot fo

The simulator observed for any evidence of failures to requirements as classified in Table II. TABLE II Defect Premature (see 3.4.1) Sound Level Intensity (see 3.4.2) Fuse Burning Time

Beginning with the first lot produced and continuing until th

41、ree consecutive lots have complied with the acceptance criteria specified herein, 125 assemblies shall be selected fxom each lot for this test. If, during the test, any assembly exhibits a Critical defect or four (4) or more Major Defects are encountered, the lot shall be rejected. The test shall be

42、 performed as specified in 4.5.5. 4.4.3.5.2 After three consecutive lots. After three consecutive lots have complied with the criteria of 4.4.3.5.1, a sample of 50 assemblies shall be selected from each lot for this test. If, during the test, any assembly exhibits a Critical Defect or three (3) or m

43、ore Major Defects are encountered, the lot shall be rejected . 4.4,3.6 Quiek leak test of sealed barrier baq. Major Defect. Ten (10) boxes in sealed barrier bags shall be selected from each lot for this teat. If two or more packages show evidence of air leakage during test or water leakage when pack

44、age is opened, the lot shall be rejected, The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.6. 4.4.4 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required to perform the examinations and tests prescribed in this section is identified under the “Method of Inspection“ headings in 4.4.2 and in the proc

45、edures in 4.5 (see 6.3). 4.5 Method of inspection. 4.5.1 Moisture content. 4.5.1.1 Moisture content of charqe composition. An accurately O weighed portion of three (3) grams (9.) of the charge composition shall be transferred to a tared moisture dish, The moisture dish and 16 Provided by IHSNot for

The percentage of moisture in the sample shall

47、be calculated as follows: Percentage of Moisture = w where: A = Loss in weight of moisture dish and contents, W = Weight of sample, g. 4.5.1.2 Paper, naper products and carton packinq material. Determine moisture content in accordance with Method 102.1 of Standard MIL-STD-1234 except that a ten (10)

48、 gram sample shall be used and the dryinq time shall be two (2) hours. 4.5.1.3 Moisture content of complete assembly. The complete assembly shall be accurately weiqhed. After weighing,. the assembly shall be placed in a drying-oven at 100 + SOC foi thiee (3) hours,- cooler7 in a desiccator and reweighed. The percentage of moisture in the assembly shall be calculated as follows: Percentage of Moisture = 100A W where: A = Loss in weight of assembly, g. W = Weiqht of sample, g. 4.5.2 Charge composition analysis 4.5.2.1 Sulfur. The samp
