This specification covers a solid state voltage regulator for use in engine driven military ground vehicles. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. 14、QUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2 and 6.3), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.1.1. 3.2 Design, materials, and manufacturing processes. The design, materials, and manufacturing process shall conform to Drawing 12354334. 3.2.1 Recycled, re

15、covered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle cos

16、ts (see 6.5.1). 3.3 Operating requirements. All regulators shall meet the performance requirements as specified in 3.3.1 through 3.3.11 when operating on a generator-alternator conforming to MIL-DTL-62186 (see 4.4.1). 3.3.1 Voltage regulation. The regulator shall establish and maintain output voltag

17、e in accordance with figures 1 and 2, throughout the generator-alternator speed range of 2400 to 8000 revolutions per minute (rpm) (see 4.4.1.1). 3.3.2 Ripple voltage. Ripple voltage shall not exceed 4 volts (V) peak-to-peak, with output voltage at 28 V direct current (dc), throughout the generator

18、speed range of 2400 to 8000 rpm (see 4.4.1.2). 3.3.3 Overvoltage. The regulator shall deactivate the field circuit when the system voltage (Es) reaches 33.0 1.0 V. Deactivation and return to battery voltage shall be accomplished in 0.07 seconds. Reset shall be manual and shall be located on the regu

False tripping of the regulator shall not be caused by buildup, load switching, and input speed acceleration or deceleration (see 4.4.1). 3.3.5 Curre

20、nt limit. The regulator shall limit the generator-alternator output current in accordance with figure 3. Stable current limiting shall be established within 0.50 seconds. System voltage undershoot shall be not below 18 V (see 4.4.1.4). 3.3.6 Accessory control. The regulator shall incorporate circuit

21、ry to energize an accessory control device that closes when the generator-alternator speed is between 900 and 1100 rpm. During shutdown, this device shall open before the generator-alternator speed reaches 800 rpm. The circuitry, when energized, shall produce at least 0.25 amperes (A) at a voltage n

22、ot less than 18 V (see 4.4.1.5). 3.3.7 Fault protection. The regulator shall include circuitry that deactivates the field circuit in the event of wiring malfunctions. This circuitry shall operate only if a malfunction in any of the trip types of table I creates a condition which would damage the reg

23、ulator or associated electrical power sources. Maximum voltage and trip time limits shall be as specified in table I for the three trip types (see 4.4.1.6). TABLE I. Trip types. The regulator circuit insulation to ground shall not permit a leakage current

25、greater than 5 milliamperes (mA) with 500 V alternating current (ac) simultaneously applied between all receptacle pins and the case, and with the case ground lead disconnected (see 4.4.1.7). 3.3.9 Short circuit protection. Regulator circuitry shall prevent damage to internal components in the event

26、 of a short circuit from pin “E” or “F” (see 3.4.3) to ground during normal regulator operation (see 4.4.1.8). 3.3.10 Electromagnetic interference (EMI). The regulator shall not exceed the broadband emission limits as specified in figures 4 and 5 (4.4.1.9). Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproducti

The regulator circuit shall not be damaged in the event reverse polarity is applied to pins “A” and “C” (see 3.4.3 and 4.4.1.10). 3.4 Interface requirements. Each regulator shall accommodate

28、the inputs, interfaces, and envelope requirements as specified in 3.4.1 through 3.4.4 (see 4.4.2). 3.4.1 Envelope and mounting dimensions. The regulator shall conform to the envelope and mounting dimensions as specified on Drawing 12354334 (see 4.4.2). 3.4.2 Mating. The regulator shall mate with the

29、 shell socket insert arrangement as specified on Drawing 12354334. Contacts shall remain positively retained in the insert arrangement throughout all conditions of intended use without causing damage or compromising performance (see 4.4.2). 3.4.3 Electrical interface. Electrical connector pin design

30、ations to the utilizing vehicle shall be provided as specified in table II (see 4.4.2). TABLE II. Electrical interface. The regulator shall not exceed 6 pounds (lb) (2.7 kilograms (kg) (see 4.4.2). 3.5 Support and ownership requirements. The regulator shall possess the life cycle ownership characteristics as spec

32、ified in 3.5.1 through 3.5.5 (see 4.4.3). 3.5.1 Dissimilar metals. Except where necessary to complete an electrical circuit, provisions shall be made to prevent galvanic corrosion ascribable to contact between dissimilar metals (see 4.4.3.1). 3.5.2 External surfaces. All external surfaces withstand

33、application of a 1 percent (%) salt mist for a period of at least 192 hours without corroding (see 4.4.3.2). 3.5.3 Endurance. The regulator case

36、shall not pose an electrical hazard due to improper grounding (see 4.4.3.4). 3.5.5 Nameplate. A permanently and legibly marked nameplate shall be conspicuously attached to the regulator housing and shall contain, as a minimum, the following information (see 4.4.3.5): a. Regulator, solid state. b. 28

37、 volts dc. c. Army part number. d. National stock number. e. Manufacturers identification (CAGE). f. Manufacturers serial number. g. Contract number. h. Date of manufacture. i. US. 3.6 Operating environment requirements. Each regulator shall operate under the environmental conditions as specified in

38、 3.6.1 through 3.6.6 (see 4.4.4). 3.6.1 Shock. The regulator shall withstand 40 gravity units (g) of sawtooth shock pulses in accordance with figure 6 for an 18 3 millisecond (ms) duration in each of the major mutually perpendicular axes without damage (see 4.4.4.1). 3.6.2 Vibration. The regulator s

39、hall withstand a maximum input vibration as specified in figures 7 and 8 in each of three mutually perpendicular axes without damage (see 4.4.4.2). 40、in salt water, the regulator shall withstand 10 pounds per square inch gage (psig) (69 kilopascals (kPa) internal pressure and internal vacuum without leaking (see 4.4.4.3). 3.6.4 Extreme temperature. The regulator shall operate at ambient temperatures in the range of -65 to 225F (-54 to 107C) witho

41、ut a compromise in performance. The range of regulated voltage over the total operational temperature range shall conform to figure 2 (see 4.4.4.4). 3.6.5 Humidity. The regulator shall show no visible damage, corrosion, or swelling, nor sustain a loss in performance due to exposure to 5 continuous 4

42、8 hour humidity cycles in accordance with figure 9 (see 4.4.4.5). 3.6.6 Fungus. The regulator shall operate in environments conducive to spore germination and growth (air temperature between 75 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit (F) (24 to 31 degrees Celsius (C) and relative humidity between 90 to 100 percent

43、 (%) without a compromise in performance attributable to the deleterious effects of fungus (see 4.4.4.6). 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Classification of inspections. Inspection requirements are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.1.1). b. Conformance inspection (see 4.1.2). 4.1.1 First

44、article inspection. When specified (see 6.2 and 6.3), a first article sample shall be selected in accordance with 4.1.1.1 and 4.1.1.2 and shall be subject to all of the comprehensive verifications as specified in table IV. 4.1.1.1 Preproduction inspection. When specified (see 6.2 and 6.3), a preprod

45、uction sample shall consist of two regulators. 4.1.1.2 Initial production inspection. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2 and 6.3), an initial production sample shall consist of two regulators from the first ten produced. 4.1.2 Conformance inspection. As specified in the contract (see 6.2 and 6.4),

46、a 100% conformance inspection shall be conducted and shall include the following verifications: All the abbreviated tests, and the accessory control, dielectric strength, short circuit protection, reverse polarity, safety, and waterproofness verifications, as specified in table IV.
