This specification covers the performance and manufacture requirements for a hydraulic filter element and relief valve, disposable type, 3 and 5 micron filtration, h

3、erein referred to as the assembly. 1.2 Classification. Assemblies will be of the following assembly part numbers (see 6.2): 12257235 - 5 microns filtration, 10 gallons per minute flow rate. 12270316-1 - 3 microns filtration, 12 gallons per minute flow rate. 12270316-2 - 3 microns filtration, 3 gallo

In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text o

14、f this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.2.

15、3.2 Materials. Materials used shall be in accordance with the manufacturers materials specifications for hydraulic valves. The materials shall be capable of meeting all the operational and environmental requirements specified herein (see 4.8). Recovered materials shall be used to the maximum extent

16、practicable. 3.2.1 Metals. All metals used in the construction of the assembly shall be corrosion-resistant or shall be adequately protected to resist corrosion during the normal service life of the filter element (see 4.8). 3.2.2 Dissimilar metals. The use of dissimilar metals in contact with each

17、other shall be avoided. Where contact between dissimilar metals is unavoidable, they shall be suitable protected against electrolytic corrosion (see 4.8). 3.2.3 Filter element material. The material of the filter element shall not change the composition of the hydraulic fluid MIL-H-46170, nor shall

18、the material be altered enough to use or storage to affect the intended function of the filter element (see 4.8). 3.2.4 Hazardous materials. Asbestos, cadmium, and radioactive material shall not be used in this item. Radioactive material is defined by CFR, Title 10, Parts 30 and 40, and other radioa

19、ctive material in which the specific activity is greater than 0.002 microcuries per gram or the activity per item equals or exceeds 0.01 microcuries (see 4.8). 20、ign and construction. Assembly shall conform to Drawing 12257235 or 12270316, as specified (see 6.2), and other applicable drawings, specifications, and standards. Parts shall be interchangeable as to fit, form, and function with all other units bearing same part number. Assembly shall be interchang

21、eable with accepted assemblies and with current mountings (see 4.7). 3.3.1 Relief valve. The assembly shall incorporate a permanently installed, nonadjustable, by-pass relief valve capable of performance specified in 3.4.9 (see 4.9.9). 3.3.2 Flow direction. Flow through the element shall be from the

22、 outside in as verified during testing (see 4.9.4 through 4.9.9). 3.4 Operating requirements. 3.4.1 Bubble point. There shall be no bubbles visible when the filter element is pressurized to 0.1 inch (in.) of water less than the minimum bubble point determined during preproduction testing (see 4.9.1)

23、 3.4.2 Filtration. The filter element shall remove 97 to 99 percent by weight of all contaminants as specified in table I (see 4.9.2). TABLE I. Contaminants filtration. The rated flow capacity of the filter element shall be as specified in table I (see 4.9.3). 3.4.4 Pressure drop. The pressure drop across the clean filter element shall not exceed the

25、amount specified in table I at flow rate specified (see 4.9.4). 3.4.5 Dirt capacity. The filter element shall hold the specified amount of AC Fine Test Dust without exceeding the differential pressure as specified in table II at flow rate specified in 3.4.3 (see 4.9.5). The assembly shall remove 97 percent, by weight, of contaminant from a mixture of 2000 mL of clean hydraulic fluid MIL-H-46170 or commercial equivalent (less than 0.0004 g of contaminant per 2000 mL of fluid), and a 5 mL slurry in accordance with table III (see 4.9.6). C = (Blank value) = Amount of contaminant attributed to the test system and test filter assembly when no contaminant has

30、 been added. This amount shall be less than 0.0007 g. 3.4.7 Collapse pressure. The filter element shall withstand the minimum differential pressure, at flow rate specified in table IV without inward structural failure or filter medial failure. The differential pressure shall be obtained by adding AC

Cracking pressure is defined as that pressure at which leakage through the valve exceeds that specified in table VI (see 4.9

With the flow specified in table VI through the relief valve, the differential pressure across the relief valve shall not

37、 exceed the pressure specified in table IV (see 4.9.9.2). 3.4.9.3 Reseat pressure. The relief valve shall reseat at the differential pressure as specified in table VI. Reseat pressure is defined as that pressure at which leakage through the valve does not exceed the amount specified in table VI (see

38、 4.9.9.3). 3.4.9.4 Endurance. The relief valve shall be capable of withstanding 2000 cycles of opening and closing the valve from zero to the flow capacity specified in table VI (see 4.9.9.4). 3.5 Interface requirements. 3.5.1 Dimensional constraints. Dimensional constraints of the assembly shall be

39、 as specified on Drawing 12257235 or 12270316, and drawings referenced therein (see 4.10.1). 3.5.2 Weight. The weight of the assembly shall not exceed 1.5 pounds (lb) (see Drawing 12257235) or 0.8 lb (see Drawing 12270316) (see 4.10.2). 3.6 Support and ownership requirements. 3.6.1 Identification ma

40、rking. Identification marking shall be permanent and legible and shall include, as a minimum, the manufacturers name and part number, the part or identifying number (PIN) and the National Stock Number (NSN). Special markings, if any (see 6.2), shall be as specified (see 4.11.1). 3.6.2 Workmanship. T

41、he assembly shall be free of defects detrimental to its intended use and service life (see 4.11.2). 3.7 Environmental requirements. The assembly shall meet the requirements of 3.4 after being subjected to the environmental conditions specified below. 3.7.1 Temperature. The assembly shall be capable

42、of operating at rated flow over the temperature range of -65F to +275F, and shall not be damaged when subjected to storage conditions of -65F. In addition, the assembly shall be capable of withstanding 10 flow cycles of cold start at -65F. The bubble point shall not be less than the minimum value es

43、tablished during first article testing (see 4.12.1). 3.7.2 Vibration. The assembly shall be capable of withstanding the vibration profile per figure 1 for a period of 80 minutes (including up to 4 resonance dwells of 13-1/3 minutes each) in each direction of the 3 mutually perpendicular axes. The assembly shall be capable of withstanding exposure to three half sine wave shock pulses of 40 4 g for a duration of 18 3 milliseconds (ms) applied in both directions along three mutually perpendicular axes (see 4.12.3). 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Classification of inspecti

46、ons. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.2). b. Conformance inspections (see 4.3).
