O REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Item definition - The shock wave sensor (SWS) is mounted in a projectile and provides an ele

8、ctrical signal when subjected to shock caused by the projec- tile impacting a hard target. The SWS is a passive piezoelectric device and requires no electric power. . The SWS is mounted in either the axial or radial position within the projectile. Several sensors may be used to assure an immediate r

9、esponse to target impact conditions. 1- - 3.2 Character ist i cs 3.2.1 Performance 3.2.1.1 Direct current resistance - The direct current resistance from each termi na1 to the container shall be 10 megohms minimum. 3.2.1.2 Out ut si na1 - The SWS shall produce an output signal of 7.2 - + 3.6 3.2.2 E

12、5722 O - MILgF43229(AR) 3.2.2.3 Acceleration high 9 - The SWS shal.1 meet the performance requirements specified in 3.2.2 following exposure to acceleration of 9000 +1500, -300 gs at temperatures from -25OF to 145OF. The direction of acceleration is shown in Figure 1. The acceleration/time curve sha

13、ll have no discontinuities, and shall remain above 8000 GIs for at least 1.5 milliseconds. 3.2.2.4 Transportation vibration - The SWS shall meet the performance requirements specif led in 3.2.1 fol 1owiBg exposure to the following vibration levels at temperatures from -5OOF to 160 F. 15、dity of 94 - + 4 percent over a temperature range of 68 F to 149 F. 3.2.2.6 Five foot dro - The SWS shall meet the performance requirements specified in Ming a drop of 5 feet onto a steel plate solidly supported by concrete. 3.2.2.7 Thermal shock - The.SWS shall meet specified pgrformance tequiremen

16、ts specified in 3.2.1 following thermal shock between -50 F and +16 F in a one minute period. 3.2.2.8 Low g acceleration - The SWS shall meet the performance requirements specified in 3.2.1 following exposure to a shock load of 750 + 50 gs for a period of less than one millisecond along the axial an

17、d radial axs of the SWS. The direction of the acceleration forces shall be as shown in Figure 1. 3.3 Design and construction 3.3.1 Production drawings - The SWS shall be fabricated and assembled in accordance with th e requirements specified on Drawing 9307240 and the applicable specifications refer

18、enced thereon. 3.3.2 Workmanship - All parts shall be fabricated and finished in a thorough workmanlike manner. Except as otherwise Specified, the parts shall be free of cracks, scratches, burrs, dents, gouges, surface defects or any surface discon- tinuities. The items shall be free from dirt, chip

19、s, grease, corrosion, and other foreign material. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. All required markings shall be neat and sharply defined. Exterior surface coatings shall be continuous. Scratches not exposina base

21、e High and Low Temperature tests may be interchanged. The sample shall meet the requirements of Table III for acceptance of the lot. If the sample fails to meet these requirements the lot shall be rejected. 4.5 Test methods 4.5.1 Test conditions 4.5.1.1 Environmental conditions - Unless otherwise sp

22、ecified for the purpose of test, testing shall be conducted at the following conditions: Temper at Ure Relative Humidity 90 percent maximum B aromet r i c Pressure 72 - i- 18OF (22.2 - i- 10C) 28 to 32 inches of mercury 4.5.1.2 Test tolerances - All tolerances specified herein are absolute with no a

23、llowance made for measuring equipment inaccuracy. 24、ents required to perform the examinations and tests prescribed herein are described in the “Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method“ column in the inspection tables included herein. The contractor shall submit for approval inspection equipment designs in accord- ance with the terms of the contract. Se

25、e Section 6.4. 4.5.2 Performance - 4.5.2.1 Direct current resistance - The direct current resistance from each terminal to the SWS container shall be as specified in 3.2.1.1 when measured at 50 - + 5 volts. 4.5.2.2 Out ut si na1 - With a 1 + .lg rms sinusoidal acceleration at a frequency of minput a

26、ppliedand with an output circuit load of 120 + 5 picofarads, including cables and meter, the output signal shall be as specifie in 3.2.1.2. * 4.5.3 Physical and dimensional characteristics - The physical and dimensional characteristics shall be inspected to the requirements of Drawing 9307240. 4.5.4

27、 Workmanship - The SWS shall be examined to verify conformance with the 4.5.5 Marking - The marking shall be as specified on Drawing 9307240. 4.5.6 Packaginq and shipping - The packaging and preservation for shipping shalT be inspected for compliance with the requirements of 5.0, 4.5.7 Environmental

28、 tests - The SWS shall meet the performance requirements specified in 3.2.1 during and/or after exposure to the following environmental conditions. The SWS shall be mounted in a projectile or in a test fixture simulating a projectile in its normal position by its normal mounting means. High temperat

29、ure - The SWS shall be conditioned at 145 + 5OF for a minimum of one hour. While at temperature, the units shall be-tested as specified in 4.5.2. Low tem erature - The SWS shall be conditioned at -25 + 5OF for a Test in accordance with 4.5.2.1 at ambient temeprature. workmanship requirements of 3.3.

The carrier/SWS assembly shall then be conditioned at 145 - + 5 F for a minimum of one

The carrier/SWS assembly shall be mounted in a test projectile or simulated projectile and subjected to the acceleration of 3.2.2.3 within 10 minutes after removal from the temperature chamber. Remove the carrier/SWS assembly from the AR ) 6.3 Definitions 6.3.1 Contractor - Unless otherwise s

32、pecified, the word contractor used throughout this specification shall mean any supplier or producer of items or material to the Government. This shall include comercial contractors, subcon- tractors, Government Owned, Contractor Operated (GOCO) plants. 6.3.2 Technical data package (TDP) - A technic

33、al description of an item adequate for use in procurement. lhe description defines the required design configuration and assures adequacy of item performance. It consists of all applicable technical data such as plans, drawings, and associated lists of specifications, standards, models, performance

34、requirements, quality assurance provisions, and packaging data. 6.4 Inspection equipment design - Inspection equipment designs are of two types-Government Special Inspection Equipment (SIE) designs and contractor designs. SIE designs are designated by drawing numbers under the “Method of Inspection“

35、 heading in Section 4, or on the equipment lists referenced on the equipment tabulation, whichever is specified in the item detail specification. Design responsibility for all other inspection equipment is assigned to the contractor. The contractor need not furnish any design when a complete govern-

36、 ment SIE design is provided. Unless otherwise specified, however, the contractor may submit alternate or modified contractor designs of SIE in accordance with 6.4.2 and 6.4.3 should he elect to do so. 6.4.1 SIE designs - SIE designs may consist of any of the following: (a) Detailed drawings. which

37、completely depict all information necessary for the fabrication and use of the item of inspection equipment. (b) A source control drawing or a specification control drawing as defined in MIL-STD-100. (c) An envelope drawing, as defined in MIL-STD-100, which establishes the criteria which a detailed

38、design shall meet. When envelope drawings are specjfied, the contractor shall prepare designs which comply with the criteria t herei n. 6.4.2 Contractor design - Contractor designs are required for all inspection equipment for which SIE designs are not specified and may include comercial equipment w

39、hich the contractor proposes to use. (Comerc.ia1 equipment is defined as unmodified equipment which is cataloged and available for purchase by the general public). Contractor designs shall include appropriate operation in- structions, calibration procedures and maintenance procedures. Commercial equ

40、ipment shall be fully described by catalog listings or other means which provide sufficient information to permit identification and evaluation by the Government and may include illustrations and engineering data. Designs shall be prepared for any special fixture(s) r.equired to be used with comerci

42、ed by the Government prior to fabricating or procuring the equipment. Designs shall be submitted for approval in accordance with the stipulations, time frame and distribution specified in the Contract Data Requirements Lists (DD Form 1423). Partial submission of inspection equipment designs is permi

43、ssible and encouraged.
