SCOPE 1.1 Scope, This document covers one type of single trace

2、, man harness, fab- ricated of natural color cotton webbing, The harness is supported on the man by means of an adjustable strap which passes over the shoulders and around the neck. It is provided with a quick-release fastener on the waistband and a single trace of polyester rope 9 feet long with a

12、 text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this docment shall take precedence. 3. -REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2 and 6.3). 3.2 Materials (see 6.4). 3.2.1 Webbing, cotton. The webbing shal

13、l be natural (unbleached), water repellent and mildew-resistant treated, Conforming to type IIb, class la, 1 inch width and type II, class la, 3-3/4 inches in width of MIL-W-530, 3.2.2 Thread, polyester. The thread for all stitching shall be type I or II, class 1, subclass A, size FF, natural of V-T

14、-285. 3.2.3 Rope. The rope shall be natural (undyed) polyester, 3/4 inch circum- ference conforming to MIL-R-30500, 3.2.4 Buckle, tongueless, 1-bar. The buckle shall conform to type I, style 2, class 1, size 1 inch, construction A of MIL-B-543. 3.2.5 Clips, end, strap. The end clips shall conform to

15、 type I, class 1, size 1 of MIL-C-496. 3.2.6 Fastener and link, quick release, aluminum, 1-3/4 inch. The fastener and link shall conform to MIL-F-11698. As an alternate the body and latch assembly shall conform to United States Forgecraft Corporation part No. 44 B 26452 (body, latch) and part No. 44

16、 B 26454 (link), or equal (see 6.5). Prior to use of the “or equal“ item, the contractor shall submit to the contracting- . officer with supporting data for approval. _. 3.2.7 Rings, dee. The 3-3/4 inch by 1-3/8 inch andthe 2-3/4 inch by 1-1/8 inch dee rings shall conform to configuration D class 2

17、of MIL-R-3390 except that the wire shall be ,2253 inch nomial diameter in lieu of .1920 inch. 3.2.8 Snaphooks. 18、icense from IHS-,-,-MIL-H-3697D 3.2 Construction, The construction shall conform in all respects to Drawing 2-10-35 and as specified herein. 3,2.1 Stitching. All stitching shall conform to type 301 of FED-STD-751, 6 to 8 stitches per inch. 3.2.1.1 Type 301 stitching. Ends of all stitching, except W-

19、W, shall be backstitched or overstitched 1 inch minimum except where ends are turned under in a hem or held down by other stitching. On W-W- stitching, all ends shall be backstitched or overstitched 1/2 inch minimum. Thread tension shall be main- tained so that there will be no loose stitching resul

20、ting in loose bobbin or top thread, or excessively tight stitching resulting in puckering of the materials sewn. The lock shall be embedded in the materials sewn. 3.2,1,1.1 Repairs of type 301 stitching, Repairs of type 301 stitching shall be as follows: a. When thread breaks or bobbin run-outs occu

21、r during stitching, the stitching shall be repaired by restarting the stitching a minimum of 1 inch (1/2 inch box and W-W-stitching) back of the end of the stitching. - 1/ b, Thread breaks or two or more consecutive skipped or run-off stitches noted during inspection of the item (in-process or end i

22、tem) shall be repaired by overstitching. The stitching shall start a minimum of 1 inch in back of the defective area (1/2 inch for box and W-W stitching), continue over the defective area and continue a minimum of 1 inch (1/2 inch for box and W-W stitching) beyond the defective area onto the existin

23、g stitching. Loose or excessively tight stitching shall be repaired by removing the defective stitching, without damaging the materials, and restitching in the required manner. L/ - 1/ When making the above repairs the ends of the stitching are not required to be backstitched, 3.3.2 Splicing, A snap

24、 hook shall be spliced to each end of the harness trace as shown on Drawing 2-10-35, using a 3-tuck eye splice. The ends of all strands shall be clipped and seared. The seared strand ends shall be not less than 3/8 inch nor more than 5/ inch in length. 3.3.3 Setting of end clips. The webbing shall b

25、e inserted the full depth of the clips, The clips shall be attached without cutting the webbing. 3.4 Marking. The identification marking shall conform to type IV, class 5 of DDD-L-20. In addition, the letters “US“ and “FRONT“ shall be applied in the size characters shown in the drawing and shall con

26、form to type IV, class 9 of DDD-L-20. Fastness shall be as specified for class 5 labels. The finished harne

27、ss shall conform to the quality and grade of product established by this document. Occurrence of defects shall not exceed the applicable acceptable quality level. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract or purchase order, the co

28、ntractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless

29、 disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the document where such inspec- tions are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirement

30、s specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.3). b. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.3 First article inspection. When a first article is required (see 6.2), it shall be examined for the defects specified in 4.4.2, 4,4.3 and 4.4.4. The presence of any de

31、fect shall be cause for rejection of the first article. 4.4 Quality conformance inspection. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4.1 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1, components and materials shall be inspec

32、ted in accordance with all the requirements of referenced documents unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified, or qualified in this document or applicable purchase document. 4.4.2 End item visual examination. The end item shall be examined for the defects listed in table I. The lot size shall be

33、expressed in units of harnesses. The sample unit shall be one harness. The inspection level shall be II and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5 for major defects, 6.5 for major and minor combined defeets, and 15.0 for total (major, minor
