17、SSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or order, the supplier my use his own

18、 or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection require- ments specified herein, unless disapproved by the Governmen;. The Gov- ernment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where assure supplies and services conform to prescribed

Before assenbly, test for luminous trans- mission in accordance with ASTM E308. 11 percent or less than 10 percent shall constitute failure of this test. Luminous transmittance of more than 4.4.2.3 Focal length of lens (type I hoodl. Before assemb

25、ly, determine the focal length of the lens by imaging the filament of a lamp on a surface and measuring the distance in centimeters from the smallest image obtainable to the center of the lens. This distance in centimeters divided into 100 is the focal length. failure of .this test. Less than i5 or

26、more than 16 diopters shall constitute 4.5 inspection of preparation for delivery. 4.5.1 Preproduction pack inspection. 4.5.1.1 Examination. The pack shall be examined for defects specified 4.5.1.2 - Test, in 4.5.2.3. Presence of one or more defects shall be cause for rejection. The pack for levels

27、A and B shall be subjected to the free fall drop test in accordance with FED. TES ME;THOD SPD, No. 101, method 5007. shall be opened and the hoods shall be removed. The pack, packages, and hoods shall be examined. Rupture or deformation of the pack or packages or any visible damage to the hoods shal

28、l constitute faikure of the test and shall be cause for rejection. At the conclusion of the test, the pack and all contained packages 4.5.2 4.5.2.1 Unit of product. Quality conformance inspection of pack. For the purpose of inspection, a completed pack of anflevel prepared for shipment shall be cons

29、idered a unit of product . 4.5.2.2 Sampling. Sampling for examination shall be in accordance with 4.5.2.3 Examination. PREPARATION FOR mLIVERY 5.1 Preproduction pack. The supplier shall furnish a preproductioq pack for examination and test within the time frame speci

33、fied to prove prior to starting production packaging, packing, and marking, that the applied preservation, packaging, packing, and marking comply with the preparation for delivery requirements of this specification, Examina- tion and tests shall be as specified in section 4 and shall be subject to s

34、urveillance and approval by the Government (see 6.3) . 5.2 Preservation and packaging. Preservation and packaging shall be level A, B, or C, as specified. 5.2.1 Level A. The hoods shall be preserved in accordance with MIL-P- 116, method III. hoods shall be preserved in quantities of two. fitting box

35、es conforming to PPP-B-636, .6c, style optional. The boxes shall be waterproof sealed with tape in accordance with the appendix to the box specification.
