14、to components specified hereinafter and on the referenced drawings as a specific manufacturers part or model number or equal, shall be functionally equal to the manufacturers model number identified, and of equal or better quality. The incorporation and inclusion of such a component in the design of
15、 the specified end product shall not require modification or change to any other specified component, and shall not reduce ease of maintenance to it or any other components, unless such modification or change is specifically approved by the contracting officer. Prior to manufacture of the first arti
16、cle, or if none is required, prior to commencing production, the contractor shall submit for the contracting officers approval, a list identifying each proposed alternate component, together with proof that each listed component complies with requirements specified above, The contracting officer, at

Materials and components not definitely specified shall be of the quality normally used by the manufacturer provided
22、the completed item complies with all the provisions of this specifi- cation, It is encouraged that recycled material be used when practical as long as it meets the requirements of this specification. 3.3 Design and construction. The design and construction of the press section shall be as specified
23、herein, and in Drawing 5-13-4700 and all subsidiary drawings and parts lists pertaining thereto. All wiring shall be in accordance with the provisions of NFPA No, 70. 3.4 Press section operation. All electrically operated equipment, including switches, lights, telephone, press, heat pumps,and sink s
24、hall function as 1 specified when tested for performance and roadability withaut failure in 4.5 and 4.5.2. 3.5 Shelter. The shelter (see 3.9) shall be either desert sand or camouf green as specified (see 6.2). All interior and exterior surfaces of the she age ter shall be cleaned and rehabilitated w
25、hen necessary to restore the original color and finish. 3,6 Complexing kit. The complexing kit (see 3.9) shall be either desert sand or camouflage green as specified (see 6.2). Exterior surfaces shall be cleaned -and rehabilitated, when necessary to restore the original color and finish. 3.7 Technic

27、amination. to determine that preservation, packing, and marking comply with section 5 requirements. Any deviation from specified requirements shall be cause for rejection of the press section. 4.5 Methods of inspection. 4.5.1 Performance test. Each completed press section shall be connected to a sui
28、table electric power source, and the heat pumps, press, sink, and electrical system (lights, switches, buttons, and outlets) shall be operated in accordance with applicable technical manuals to insure proper operation. All doors/drawers shall be checked to insure smooth operation. malfunction or any
29、 leakage in sink shall constitute failure of this test. Any electrical or mechanical 4.5.2 Roadability. Following successful completion of test specified in 4.5.1 the complete press section, with all contents, shall be secured as specified in section 5 and mounted on Government furnished mobilizers
30、and subjected to a 50 mile road test. The vehicle shall be driven at top legal speed, or as road conditions permit, for this type equipment. Not less than 10 miles of the test course shall be unimproved roads such as earth or partially surfaced gravel, and the remainder shall be improved roads such
31、as concrete, asphalt, or macadam. The test shall include not less than 20 quick starts and stops of the vehicle on grades of not less than 5 percent or greater than 10 percent. starts and stops shall be made on ascending grades and 50 percent on descending grades. At the completion of the test, the
