SCOPE - 1.1 This specification con
2、tains requirements not covered by the drawings and provides quality assurance provisions for the PA515 Stab Primer. 2. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 General Requirements 3.1.1 Construction Materials and Composition - Construc- tion,
6、 materials and composition of the primer shall comply with this specification and applicable specificationsland drawings (See 2.1). 3.2 Detail Requirements 3.2.1 Function and Energy Output - The primers shall function satisfactorily as evidenced by a depression in the aluminum block within the limit
7、s of .O30 to .O56 centimeter (.O12 to .O22 inch) when tested as specified in 4.5.2. The primer must function on the first attempt. The two ounce steel ball shall be dropped from a height of four inches, measured from the top of the firing pin to the bottom of the ball. 3.2.2 Moisture Content 3.2.2.1
8、 Lead Azide: The moisture content of the lead azide at the loading station at the time of loading the primers shall not exceed 0.30 percent when determined-as specified in 4.5.3. mixture at the loading station at the time of loading the primer shall not exceed 0.30 percent when determined as specifi
9、ed in 4.5.3. 3.2.2.2 Primer Mixture: The moisture content of the primer 3.3 Workmanship: The manufacturer shall employ proced- ures which provide controls that preclude conditions which may adversely affect the safety or reliability of the primer (i.e. contamination, damage in handling, etc.). 3.4 F

11、(AR) 3.5, Data Requirements: The contractor shall generate data in accordance with the requirements of the data item de- scription cited in 4.5.4 (See 6.3). 4. OUALITY-ASSUFWNCE-PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility For Inspection and Standard Quality Acsurance-?ravisions: Unless otherwise specified herein
12、or in the contract, the provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall apply and are hereby made a part of this detail specification. 4.2 Classification-of.Inspectionc: The following types of inspection shall b e conducted on the item: a. First Article Inspection (See 4,3) b. Quality Conformance Inspection (see 4.
13、4) 4.3 First-Article Inspection 4.3.1 Submission: The contractor shall submit a first article sample as designated by the Contracting Officer for evaluation in accordance with provisions of 4.3.2. The first article shall consist of 125 primers obtained by sampling as described in 4.4.2.1. The sample
14、s shall be obtained from a production lot which has been produced by the contractor usin the same production processes, procedures and equipment as wi 1 be used in fulfilling the contract. All materials shall be ob- tained from the same sources of supply as will be used in regu- lar production, Tabl

16、t this procedure two times, making a total of three extractions. Using an eye dropper, transfer to the crucible enough alcohol to thoroughly wet the sample and wash the crucible walls. Aspirate until the odor of alcohol is no longer detectable and dry the crucible in an oven for 30 minutes at 60 + 5
17、OC. Cool in a desiccator and weigh. Record this weight as Weight B. Reserve the crucible and residue for the basic lead styphnate determination. Correct for the percentage of basic lead styphnate in the water extract as follows: Transfer the filtrate and washings quantitatively to a 100 ml. calibrat
18、ed volumetric flask, washing the beaker thoroughly with distilled water and dilute to the mark. Using a calibrated pipette, transfer a 10 ml, aliquot of this solu- tion to a second 100 ml. calibrated volumetric flask and dilute to the mark with distilled water. Transfer a portion of this solution to
19、 a corex glass spectrophotometric cell having a width of approximately 1 centimeter (cm) and determine its op- tical density at a wave length of 410 millimicrons. Use as reference a similar cell containing the same proportion of water saturated with lead azide and alcohol as in the sample colution.
20、Since the cell which holds the lead styphnate solu- tion is not identical with the reference cell, correct the optical density obtained as described above for the difference in the amount of light which the two cells scatter and absorb. To do this, fill both cells with a solution of water and alcoho
21、l, and measure at a wave length of 410 millimicrons, the optical density of the cell which originally contained the basic lead styphnate solution. 23、d styphnate content of the sample in accordance with Method 408.1 of MILSTD-650 except use the following calculation : Percentage basic lead styphnate = 28 (A-B) + Pb - WD where: A = Optical density of basic lead styphnate. B = Optical density of ammonium acetate solution. D = Width of corex cell, c
24、m. W = Weight of dried specimen. Pb = Percent basic lead styphnate found in barium nitrate filtrate. 4.5.4.3. Tetracene: The wet residue obtained in the determination ot basic lead styphnate shall be washed three times with alcohol, dried in an oven maintained at 60 + 5OC, for 30 minutes, cooled in
25、a desiccator and weighed. Te dried residue in the crucible shall be transferred to a 125 ml. beaker with a stream of water; 25ml. of water shall be added, and the contents of the beaker boiled on a hot plate for 5 minutes. The contents of the beaker shall be quantitatively transferred into the same
26、crucible, and the residue in the crucible washed three times with boiling water and finally with alcohol. The crucible and contents shall be dried in an oven maintained at 60 + 5OC for 30 minutes, cooled in a desiccator and weighed, The percentage of tetracene in the specimen shall be calculated as

W = Weight of dried specimen, g. 4.5.4.5 Lead azide: The lead azide content in the specimen shall be determined by subtracting from 100 the combined percentage of barium nitrate, basic lead styphnate, tetracene and antimony sulfide. 4.5.5 Da
30、ta Items: The contractor shall submit a quality inspection test, demonstration and evaluation report in accor- dance with Data Item Description DI-R-1721 and DI-R-1724 giving the detailed test results. 5.
