Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials. Materials shall be in accordance with the appli
16、cable drawings and specifications. 3.2 Projectile. The projectile assembly and parts thereof shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawings 12914056, 12914057, or 12914058, and associated drawings, and with all requirements specified in applicable specifications and standards (see 6.5) 3 L

Prior to forwarding the projectiles to the proving ground for ballistic testing, the projectiles shall be subjected to radiographic examination. The projecti

20、diograph. g. 3.4 Records of results of contractor-conducted examinations and 3.5 Workmanship. 3.5.1 General. All parts and assemblies shall be fabricated, loaded, and assembled in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall be free of burrs, sharp edges, cracks, dirt, grease, rust and other foreign m
21、atter. The cleaning method shall not be injurious to any parts, nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agents. Exterior surface coatings shall be continuous; however, a few light scratches not exposing base material and protective coating missing per 4.4.3.1 are permitted. All required
22、marking and stamping shall be neat and sharply defined. 3.5.2 Paintinq and markinq. The painting and marking shall be restored by the assembling contractor on any component furnished painted and marked, when such painting and markings have been marred or obliterated. that the rotating band of the pr

24、e specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitab
25、le for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to pre
26、scribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all requirements of Section 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the sp
27、ecification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain confo
28、rmance to requirements, however, this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The following types of inspection shall be conducted on this item: a. Qualit
29、y conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.3 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified, all inspections shall be performed in accordance with the test conditions specified in MIL-A-48078. 4.4 Quality conformance inspection. 4.4.1 Inspection lot formation. Inspection lots shall comply with the lot
30、 formation provisions of MIL-A-48078. In addition each inspection lot of projectiles shall contain: a. Base burner assemblies from one lot, from one interfix number and from one manufacturer. e. Adapters from one lo
32、t interfix number from one manufacturer . f. Forward plates from one lot interfix number from one manufacturer. g. Sleeves from one manufacturer. h. Spacers from one manufacturer. i. Splines from one lot interfix number from one manufacturer. j. Expulsion charge assembly propellant from one manufact
33、urer and no more than two serial lot numbers. k. Loaded projectiles of one weight zone. i. Expulsion cups from one lot interfix number from one manufacturer. 4.4.2 Examinations and tests. See MIL-A-48078. a. Classification of Characteristics. Quality conformance examinations and tests are specified
34、in the following Classification of Characteristics paragraphs. The contractors quality program or detailed inspection system shall provide assurance of compliance of all characteristics with the applicable drawing and specification requirements utilizing as a minimum the conformance criteria specifi
35、ed herein. When IrO-l“ attributes sampling inspection shall be performed on the designated characteristics using the stated levels in Table I for selection of sample sizes. Alternative inspection procedures, methods or equipment, such as statistical process control, tool control, other types of sampling procedures, etc., may be used by the contractor when they provide,
37、as a minimum, the level of quality assurance required by the provisions specified herein. Prior to applying such alternative procedures, methods or equipment, the contractor shall describe them in a written proposal submitted to the procuring contracting officer for evaluation and approval by the Go
38、vernment (see 6). When required, the contractor shall demonstrate that the effectiveness of the proposed alternative(s) is equal to or better than the specified quality assurance provisions herein. In cases of dispute as to whether the contractors proposed alternative(s) provide equal assurance, the
39、 provisions of this specification shall apply. alternative inspection provisions shall be specifically incorporated into the contractors quality program or detailed inspection system as applicable.
