This specification contains detailed requirements for the preparation of an operators pocket-size, Preventive Maintenance Checklist (PMC) for all equipment except aircraft. The checklist inc

Each item specified herein will be included in the PMC unless otherwise specified by the contracting activity. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Gen

7、eral. The documents listed in this section are specified in section 3 of this specification. This section does not include documents cited in other sections of this specification or recommended for additional information or as examples. While every effort has been made to ensure the completeness of

8、this list, document users are cautioned that they must meet all specified requirements documents cited in section 3 of this specification, whether or not they are listed. 2.2 Government documents. 2.2. i Suecifications, standards, and handbooks. The following specifications, standards, and handbooks

9、 form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. The issue of these documents shall be those listed in the issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DODISS) and supplement thereto, cited in the solicitation (see para 6.2). 11、recedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, the text of this specification shall take precedence. Nothing in this document, however, shall supersede applicable law and regulations unless a specific exemption is obtained. 3. REQUIREMEN

12、TS 3.1 General. 3.1 .I National Stock Numbers CNSN) and part numbers (PIN). NSNs shall not be used in procedural steps in the PMC. P/Ns shall not be used in procedural steps except when absolutely necessary for identification. 3.1.2 Illustrations. Illustrations may be used in the PMC. 3.2 Style and

13、format reauirements. I a. Unless otherwise specified herein, prepare PMC using the general style and formats provided in MIL-STD-38784. 14、shall consist of a cover page (see figure i) and the checklist. The checklist shall consist of all before, during, and after operation check and service procedures in the validated and verified preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) table in the associated operators manual. c. When the co

15、ntent of the PMC, including the cover page, is 10 pages or less, it shall be prepared as a pocket size accordion foldout (see figure 2). If it is i i pages or more, it shall be prepared as a vertical pocket manual. The PMC shall have a trim size of 4 by 5 !h inches and a maximum printed area of 3 3/

16、8 by 5 1/4 inches. The maximum printed area shall include all printed matter, including publication and page num bers. d. Type size shall not be smaller than 6 point for pocket size accordion foldout and 8 point for the vertical pocket manual format. e. The PMC shall use the same basic Technical Man

17、ual (TM) identification number as the operators manual from which the preventive maintenance checks and services were extracted. A “-i OPMC” suffix shall be added to the basic TM number (see figure 1 ). 3.3 Technical content. a. The checklist shall consist of all before, during, and after operation

18、interval checks and service procedures contained in the validated and verified PMCS table in the associated operators manual. b. Item numbers in the checklist shall be the same as those assigned to the procedures in the operators PMCS table. c. The checks and services procedures in the checklist sha

19、ll be presented in the same sequence and include the same crewmember headings, if any, as those in the associated operators PMCS table. Appropriate interval headings shall precede each group of procedures (see figure 3). d. Any check that could reveal a Not Mission Capable (NMC) fault shall be ident

20、ified by placing an asterisk by that item number. Each page containing an asterisk shall have a note explaining its meaning and instructing the operator to report the NMC fault using the appropriate forms. The note shall appear at the bottom of the page (see figure 3). 3.3.1 Warnings and cautions. A

21、ll warnings and cautions applicable to the checks and services procedures estracted from the PMCS table in the associated operators manual shall be included in the checklist in their entirety. 3.3.2 Usage note and reporting errors and recommending improvements statement. The following text shall app

VERIFICATION 4.1 Verification. Verification shall be as specified by the contracting activity in the solicitation (see 6.2).

25、 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of material is to be performed by DoD personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain requisite pac

26、kaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Points packaging activity within the Military Department or Defense Agency, or within the Military Departments System Command. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Military Departments or Defense A

27、gencys automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity. 6. NOTES (This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature which may be helpful, but is not mandatory). 6.1 Intended use. This specification covers the preparation of operators

28、 preventive maintenance checklists. it is not intended for producing aircraft checklists. 6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents should specify the following items: a. Title, number, and date of this specification. b. Title and number of the technical manual. c. Source of validated and

29、verified PMCS tables for use in preparing the PMC. d. Requirements, if any, for validation. e. Verification requirements. f. Packaging and delivery requirements. Y g. documents. The requirement for technical manuals should be considered when this specification is applied on a contract. If technical manuals are required, specifications

31、and standards that have been cleared and listed in DoD 5010.12-L, Acquisition Management Systems and Data Requirements Control List (AMSDL) must be listed on a separate Contract Data Requirements List (DD Form 1423), which is included as an exhibit to the contract. The technical manuais must be acqu

32、ired under separate contract line item in the contract. 6.4 Definitions. Operator or crew.
