SCOPE 1.1 Scope.

7、rder of precedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document shall take precedence . 3 . REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials and components. The materials and components shall be as specified Materials and components not definitel

8、y herein and on the applicable drawihgs. specified shall be of the quality normally used by the manufacturer provided the completed item complies with all the provisions of this document (see 6.4). e 3.1.1 Aluminum. The aluminum shall conform to alloys 5252, temper H25; 5257, temper H25; 5457, tempe

9、r O or temper 25; 5557, temper O or 5657, temper H25. The aluminum shall be analyzed in accordance with Method 111 or 112 of FED-STD-15 1 e 3.1.2 .Primer. The primer shall conform to composition G or L, color Y of TT-P-1757. 3.1.3 Enamel. The enamel shall conform to class A, composition G or L, Oliv

10、e Drab color No. 24087 of TT-E-529, 3.2 Design arid construction. The design and construction of the reflector shall be as specified herein and as shown on Drawing 5-13-1884. fabricated with a lock seam or may be spun in one piece from any one of the aluminum alloys specified in 3.1.1. The reflector

After fabrication, the interior surface shall be buffed, chemically bright dipped, and followed by anodizing in accordan

12、ce with industry practice in such a manner as to produce a uniform bright natural finish; or electropolished (see 6.3). with primer specified in 3.1.2. After primer has thoroughly dried, the exterior surface shall be coated with enamel specified in 3.1.3. The enamel finish shall level out to produce

13、 a smooth and uniform surface. Q After anodizing, or electropolishing; the exterior surface shall be coated 3.4 Marking identification. The reflectors shall be marked with the manufacturers name or readily identifiable trademark. 3.5 Workmanship. The light reflector shall be free from burrs or sharp

14、 edges. if applicable, the lock seam shall be free from any malformations. The interior reflector finish shall be free from discoloration, abrasions, whitening or blemishes. The exterior finish shall be free from runs, wrinkles or areas of no film, orange peel, foreign matter, or separation of color

15、 (flooding or floating). 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contrac

16、t or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the document where such ins

17、pections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Quality conformance inspection. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.2.1 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1

18、, components and materials shall be inspected in accordance with all the requirements of referenced documents unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified or qualified in this document or applicable purchase document. 4.2.1.1 Certification. The contractor shall furnish a certificate of compliance th

19、at the applicable material conforms to the aluminum requirements of 3.1.1. 4.2.2 End item examination. The end item shall be examined in accordance with 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2. A lot shall consist of all reflectors offered for inspection at one time. The sample unit for visual and dimensional examinati

Fifty reflectors shall be packed, with a wide opening down, in a snug-fitting fiberboard shipping container conforming to style RSC-L, grade V2s or PPP

25、-B-636. sheet of 15-pound minimum basisweight kraft paper placed between each reflector. The inside of each shipping container shall be fitted with a box liner conforming to type CF, class weather-resistant, variety DW, grade V15c of PPP-B-636. shipping container shall be closed in accordance with m

26、ethod III, waterproofed in accordance with method V and reinforced as specified in the appendix of PPP-B-636. 5.1.2 Level B packing. NOTES Y O 6.1 Intended use.

31、 The reflector is intended to confine and reflect a portion of the light rays from the lantern into a downward area of direction when used with the military gasoline field lantern. 6.2 Ordering data. Acquisition documents should specify the following data: (a) Title, number and date of this document

32、. (b) Selection of applicable level of packing (see 5.1) . (c) When VC, V3s or V4s fiberboard is required for level B pack (see 5.1.2.1). 6.3 Finish electro brightening or electropolishing processes. The ALZAK process is developed by the Aluminum Company of America. fluroberic acid, sodium carbonate

33、 and sulfuric-phosphoric-chromic acid treatments. Other trade names are Battelle and Baytal processes. Other commercial processes include 6.4 Recycled material. It is encouraged that recycled material be used when practical as long as it meets the requirements of the document (see 3.1). 6.5 Changes
