In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document shall take precedence. Nothing in this document, however

12、 shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Samples. A 3.1.1 Guide samples. Samples of the end item, when furnished, are solely for guidance and information to the contractor (see 6.3). Variations from this document may appear

13、in the sample, in which case this document shall govern, * First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and 6.4). 3.2. Materials (see 6.5). 3.2.1 Webbing, nylon, 1 inch wide. The 1 inch nylon webbing shall be

14、dyed Olive Drab 7 and shall conform to class 2 of MIL-W-17337. a 3.2.2 Webbing, nylon, 1-23/32 inch wide. The 1-23/32 inch webbing shall be dyed Olive Drab 7 and shall conform to type VIII, class 1 or 2 of MIL-W-4088. The 1-23/32 inch webbing shall be resin impregnated to conform to class R of MIL-W

15、27265. 3.2.3 Thread, polyester. The thread for all stitching shall be size FF conforming to type I, class 1, subclass A of V-T-285. The thread shall be dyed Olive Drab S-1 (C.A. 66022) and shall show fastness to weathering equal to or better than the standard sample. When no standard sample is avai

16、lable, the thread shall show good fastness to weathering. 3.2.4 Keeper, clamp, 1 inch with loop. The keeper shall conform to type IX, class A, of MIL-H-9890, 3.2.5 Hook, double. The double hook shall conform to type I, class 1, of MIL-H-639. 3.3 Construction. The construction shall conform in all re

17、spects to Drawing 2-3-169 and shall be as specified herein. * 3.3.1 Stitches, seams, and stitching. Ail stitches, seams, and stitching shall be performed using stitch type.301 of FED-STD-751 with 6,to 8 stitches per inch. Automatic stitching machines may be used to perform any of the stitch patterns provided the requirements for the stitch patterns, stitches per inch, and size and type of thread are met; and at least

19、 three tying, overlapping, or backstitches are used to secure the ends of stitching. $c 3.3.1.2 Type 301 stitching. Ends of all stitching shall be backstitched or overstitched not less than 1/2 inch except where ends are turned under or caught in other seams and stitching. Thread tensions shall be m

20、aintained so that there will be no loose stitching resulting in loose bobbin or top thread or excess- ively tight stitching resulting in puckering shall be imbedded in the materials sewn. 3.3.1.2.1 Repairs of type 301 stitching. be as follows: of the materials sewn. When thread breaks, skipped stitches, run-Offs, or bobbin runouts occur during sewing, the stitching shall be repaired by restarting the stitching a minimum of 1/2 inch back of the end of the stitching. - i/ b. 22、ed during inspection of the item shall be repaired by overstitching. The stitching shall start a minimum of 1/2 inch in back of the defective area, continue over the defective area, and continue a minimum of 1/2 inch beyond the defective area onto the existing stitching, Loose or excessively tight s

23、titch- ing shall be repaired by removing the defective stitching, without damaging the materials, and restitching in the required manner. L/ - i/ When making the above repairs, the ends of stitching are not required to be backstitched. 3.3.1.3 Thread ends, All thread ends shall be trimmed to 1/4 inc

24、h maximum length. 3.3.2 Fusing of nylon webbing. Cut ends of webbing shall be fused smooth and even as -indicated on.Drawing 2-3-169. Fusing of the webbing ends shall be accomplished prior to assembling for stitching. 3.3.3 Repairs. Repairs such as mends, darns, or splices are not permitted on the r

25、ifle butt pocket and strap assembly. 3.4 Marking. The identification marking shall be applied in the location shown on Drawing 2-3-169 and shall conform to type IV, class 5 of DDD-L-LO. The letters US shall be applied in the size characters and in the location indicated on the drawing and shall conf

26、orm to type IV, class 9 of DDD-L-20. The rifle butt pocket

27、and strap assembly shall conform to the quality of product established by this document and occurrence of defects shall not exceed the applicable acceptable quality levels. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS * 4.1 Responsibility for nspection. Unless otherwise specified in the 6 contract or purchase or

28、der, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. -Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified he

29、rein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this document where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 9: 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items

Inspection shall be made at any point or during any phase of the manufacturing process to determine whether cut lengths, listed below, prior to assembly

The Government reserves the right to exclude from acceptance any material or service for which in-process inspection has indicated non- conformance.
