SCOPE 1.1 Scope. Thi
2、s document covers tent sections with covers for one type of frame-supported raised hemicylindrical tent fabricated of fire, water, weather, and mildew-resistant (FWWMR) treated cotton duck. Each intermediate section is provided with a window and window screen, and each end section has a chain hoiste
3、d vehicle door, a personnel door, and a double heater duct. Covers are provided for protection of each section during transport, 1.2 Classification. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and
24、 6.3). 3.2 Materials .and components. (See 6.4) 3.2.1 Cloth, cotton duck. The cloth shall conform to MIL-C-43627 color Olive Drab 7. * 3.2.2 Tape, textile, cotton. The tape shall conform to type I, class 4, 3/4-inch, 1-inch, and 2-inch widths, Olive Drab 7 of MIL-T-43566. * 3.2.3 Webbing, textile, c
25、otton. The webbing shall conform to type IIb, class 4, 1-inch width, and type III, class 4, 1-inch width, Olive Drab 7 of MIL+-530 3.2.4 Screening, nonmetallic. The screening shall conform to type III, class 1, size 18 by 18, color green, of L-S-125. 3.2.5 Thread, polyester. The thread shall conform
26、 to type I, class 1, subclass B of V-T-285 as follows: a. For all stitching except zig-zag stitching and stitching indicated by “Z“ on drawings, use size FF for needle and bobbin. b. The twine shall conform to type II, class 1, 5 ply of T-T-8 7 1 3.2.7 Cord, cotton, braided. The cord shall conform to type I, class 3, size number 4 of T-C-571. The color shal
29、l be Olive Drab prior to mildew- resistant treatment and the shade imparted by the treatment will be acceptable. 3.2.8 Rope, tent-lay. The manila .rope used for stiffeners shall conform to type I, class 2, 1 1/8 inch circumference of MIL-R-1670. 3.2.9 Rope, polyester. The polyester rope shall confor
30、m to 3/4 inch circumference (1/4 inch approximate diameter) of MIL-R-30500, and shall be natural in color or as specified on applicable drawings. 3.2.10 Lines, tent. The cover tie lines shall conform to type XXI, class A, and the tent guy lines shall ccnform to type XLIII, class A (except that the g
31、uy lines shall be finished in accordance with figure 1) of MIL-L-I709 (see 6.6). 3.2.11 Film, plastic. Plastic film shall conform to the requirements for 0.0060-inch thick film, type I, class 1, grade A, B, or C, finish 1 of L-P-378 except that the film thickness shall be 0.020 f 0.004 inch. for sli
32、p, ink adhesion, water vapor permeability, impact resistance, and heat- seal strength shall notbe applicable. The requirements 3.2.12 Leather. The leather shall conform to type I, II, III, or IV, class 1, 6 ounces of MIL-L-40069. The color shall be that imparted by chrome- tannage, and the crocking
33、requirement shall not apply. 3.2.13 Grommets, metallic. The grommets shall conform to type III, class 3, size Nos. 2, 3, and 4 (as specified on applicable drawings) of MIL-C-16491. * 3.2.14 Fasteners, slide, interlocking. The slide fasteners shall conform to size H, brass chain and slider of V-F-106
34、. Alternatively, the slide -_ fastener chain shall be polyester continuous monofilament in a ladder or coil type configuration. Color of the chain, slider, pull, and stops shall approximately match the tape color. 3.2.14.1 Window fastener. The window fasteners shall be type I, style 2, wire stirrup

46、ied herein. 3.3.1 Stitching, machine. 3.3.1.1 Types of stitching. All stitch types shall conform to FED-STD-751 as follows : a. For all stitching except zig-zag stitching and stitching indicated by “Z“ on drawings, use type 301, 5 to 7 stitches per inch. b. For zig-zag stitching, use type 304, 1/8 t
