A satisfactory method of applying seam sealer for the repair of leaking seams is as follows: Observe the folluwing warnings and apply K Kote Seam Sealer per P/N 83-234C or equal (see 6.9) to fabric assemblies as descriid below. WARNING Do n

21、ot smoke or use seam sealer or solvent near open flame. Be sure to observe all warnings and instruction, that cm with sealer and solvent. Use seam sealer and solvent in an open, well ventilated area, away from sources of combustion. Avoid direct sunlight if possible. Tent can be erected or fabric as

22、semblies can be removed and laid flat. Do not use a foam brush. Use a bristle brush only. 23、 (5) MIL-T-4424 3A AMENDMENT1 Sealer should oniy be applied to new stitches, patches, etc., or those areas that have shown water leakage. light coats of sealant are mre effective than one thick coat. Do not use excessive amounts of sealer, as this does not increase effectiveness and will give the te

24、nt a poor appearance. Do not leave original sealer container open, as sealer will thicken and become unusable. Limit the amount of th container is open. Surface to be sealed should be cleaned as thoroughly as practical and completely dry before applying sealer. Pour small munt of sealer into a clean

25、 container and irmzediately reseal the gallon container. Apply sealer to stitching or repair to be sealed, overlapping seam stitching or edges of repair by 1/2“.
