SCOPE 1.1 Scope. - This specification co

2、vers the Transmitter Group, Simulated Radiac, Hot Spot OT-52/T. The Of-52 is an RF transmitter and antenna which simulates a radioactive fallout pattern with radio waves. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. -When specif

11、ied in-the contract or purchase order, the contractor shall furnish first article units in accordance with 4.3. 3.2 Construction. - The Transmitter Group, Simulated Radiac, Hot Spot OT-52/T shall be constructed in accordance with the requirements of this specification, and of Drawing DLSM-B-748195.

12、3.3 Parts, materials and processes. - In addition to any requirements of fhis specification covering parts, materials and processes, such items shall conform to MIL-P-11268, including the selection requirements therein. 3.4 Marking. - 3.4.1 General. - Marking shall conform to MIL-M-13231. 3.4.2 Seri

13、al numbers. - Each equipment shall bear a serial number in accordance with the requirements of MLL-M-13231. 3.5 parts sha 3.6 interchangeability. - Like units, assemblies, subassemblies and replaceable I conform to requirement 7 of MIL-STD-454. (See 4.6) Performance Characteristics. - 3.6.1 Transmit

14、ter, Simulated Radiac, Hot Spot T-l255/T. - 3.6.1 .l Operating frequency and stability. - The operating frequency shall be within 138 to 144 MHz and shall be crystal controlled. At variations of input voltage and power output specified in 4.1 1.1, the transmitted frequency shall not vary more than f

15、 2.5 KHz. At room ambient temperature and input voltages specified in paragraph 4.11.1, the maximum power output shall be at least 225 mW but not more t

17、han 275 mW. When set on minimum power, the power output shall be less than 20 mW. (See 4.1 1.2) 3.6.1.3 Operation in different modes. - 3.6.1.3 . 1 Mode 1 . - When operating in Mode 1 the transmitter shall be capable of automatically turning on after a selectable period of time between 1/2 hour and

18、6 hours and then automatically turning off after a selectable period of operation of between 1/2 and 6 hours. Both turn on and turn off times shall be selectable in 1/2 hour increments. (See 4.11.3.1) 3.6.1.3.2 Mode 2. - When operating in Mode 2 the transmitter shall be capbble of automatically turn

19、ing on at minimum power, after a selectable period between 1/2 to 6 hours in 1/2 hour increments. Following power turn on, the power shall increase to full power in 30 minutes* The power shall then decrease to minimum power in 4 hours. At that time the transmitter shall turn off automatically. (See

20、4.1 1.3.2) 3.6.1.3.3 Continuous wave (CW) . - When operating in the CW mode the trans- mitter shall produce a CW RF signai capable of being continuously varied by the power control. When the power control is in position “O“ the output shall be less than 20 mW; in position “10“ the output shall not b

21、e greater than 250 mW rt: 10%. (See 4.1 1.3.3) 3.6.1.4 Weight. - The weight of the transmitter without batteries shall not exceed 8 pounds. (See) 3.6.1.5 Battery Life. - The transmitter shall be capable of full power output for 12 hours at O f 2.5F in the CW mode without changing batteries. The powe

(See 4.9) 3.6 .2 Antenna assembly A$-2919/T. - 3.6.2.1 Beam width, - The radiation pattern of the directional antenna shall have a beam width of not less than 20 degrees and not more than 50 degrees. (See 4.10) 3.6.3 Case, Simulated Transmitter C

23、Y-7349/T. - 3.6.3 . 1 Weight . - When loaded with al I antenna and miscellaneous components and three transmitters T-l255/T (i .e., a complete Transmitter Group OT-52/T as per DLSM-8-748195) the carrying case assembly shall not exceed 135 pounds. 25、 3.7.1 Temperature. - 3.7.1.1 Low Temperature. - The transmitter shall be subjected to the low temperature extremes of O f 2.5OF operating and -60 f 2.5OF storage and shall meet the requirements of 3.6.1.2 when tested in accordance with 4.13.5.1. 3.7.1.2 High temperature. - The transmitter shall be

26、subjected to the high temperalure extremes of 125 f 2.5OF operating and 160 f 2.5OF storage and shall meet the requirements of 3.6.1.2 when tested in accordance with 4.13.5.2. 3.7.2 Electromagnetic interference (EML) characteristics. - The transmitter shall meet )he requirements of MIL-STD-461, for

27、Methods CE06 and RE02 except as modified in Table 1. 31、transmitter shall show no evidence of leakage after it is tested as specified in 4.13.2.1 . 3.7.7.2 Immersion, case. - it is tested as specified in 4.13.2.2. The case shall show no evidence of leakage after 3.7.8 Salt fog. - After testing as specified in 4.13.7 the transmitter shall meet the perform

32、ance requirements of 3.6.1.2 and 3.6.1.3. 3.7.9 Fungus. - Upon completion of test, there shall be no deterioration, corrosion 0r-e in configuration that will prevent the maintenance or operation of the transmitter. (See 4.13.8) 3.8 Burn-in. - Each transmitter T-l255/T shall be capable of meeting the

33、 per- formance requirements specified herein after being subjected to the specified burn-in cycle of 4.12. 3,9 Workmanship - Each transmitter group shal I be manufactured and assembled in accordance with the requirement 9 of MIL-STD-454. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspect

34、ion, - Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requi rements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or order, the contractor may utilize his own facilities, facilities of a subcontra

35、ctor or any commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that the supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements 4.2 Classificatio

36、n of inspections. - Inspections shall be classified as follows: a First article inspection. (Does not include preparation for delivery) (See 4.3) b . Factors of lot composition not defined herein, or in the contract or purchase order, shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105. Euch lot shall be subject to sampling inspection, utilizing the pro- cedures of MIL-STD-105
