REQUIREMENTS O 3.1 Materials - Materials shall be in accordance with drawings in paragraph 2.1 and the applicable drawings and specif

15、rformance. 3.3.2.1 Tracer function . - Tracer for each cartridge shall ignite within approximately 250 meters of the muzzle and shall show visible evidence of burning to a minimum distance of 750 meters. 3.4 First article . - When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjec
16、ted to first article inspection (see 4.3). 3.5 Forkmanship. - The tracer charge shall be free of cracks, chips, broken edges, striations, capping and laminations. The tracer charge and igniter composition shall be free of dirt, grease and foreign material. Packaging shall be free of dirt and grease.

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Pesrto nsibiiitv for inspect ion. - Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the
18、 contract or purchase order, the contractor may use their own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specificatio
19、n where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. requirements of Sections 3 and 5. E n. - The tracer as referred to in this specification consists of two tracer charge pellets and a igniter pellet compressed in a tracer cup. III 6.3 6.4 ture. - The ignit
36、er and tracer compositions, and the pellets formed thereof, are hygroscopic and will deteriorate rapidly when exposed to moisture. Small amounts of moisture present in or absorbed by the compositions or pellets, will eventually result in unsatisfactory functioning. It is highly desirable that the in
37、gredients, compositions, andpellets be carefully safeguarded from exposure to moisture and humid atmospheres. For insurance of a satisfactory tracer function, it is recommended that the blending and pelleting buildings be air conditioned in a manner which will hold the humidity of the atmosphere les
38、s than 60 percent. 6.5 Alter nate test ina p rocedu res. - Alternative testing procedures may be proposed by the contractor when such testing and procedures provide a5 a minimum the quality assurance prrivisions specified herein. Prior to applying alternative procedures, the contractor shall describ
39、e them in a written proposal and shall demonstrate that their effectiveness is equal to or better than the quality assurance provisions specified herein. Alternative testing procedures must have the approval of the Government Contracting Officer prior to use. 6.6 ShiDpina ,- If shipment is necessary
40、, Department- of Transportation (DOT) Class and Marking cited on the affected item drawings is applicable. Material must be adequately and properly packaged in accordance with applicable DOT Packaging Requirements (paragraph 173.61, CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS (CFR) Title 49) . O 6.7 Hazard notice.
41、- The tracer and igniter charge and the tracer and igniter charge composition described herein are flammable and/or explosive and consequently present hazards in manufacture, handling, storage and shipment. The contractor should recognize these hazards and take appropriate measures to guard and prot
42、ect against fire, explosion, adverse environment, corrosive atmosphere, rough handling, and electrically induced incidents. 6.8 Prawinas . -Drawings listed in Section 2 of this specification in the heading U.S. Army Armament Research and Development Engineering Center (ARDEC) may also include drawin
