SCOPE

2、1.1 This specification covers the quality assurance provisions and special requirements not covered by the drawings for parts and assembly of the M267 Multipurpose Submunition (MPSM) Practice Warhead . 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Government documents. 2.1.1 Specifications and standards. Unless other

In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, the text of this specification shall take precedence. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Material

11、s. The components and assemblies shall comply with all requiremen

12、ts specified on Drawing 9334148 and associated drawings and with all requirements specified in applicable specifications and standards. 3.3 M75 General Purpose Practice Grenade. The grenade shall comply with specification MIL-G-63445. 3.4 M439 Fuze. The fuze shall comply with specification VIL-F-488

13、77 . 3.5 M267 Warhead metal parts. The metal parts shall comply 3.6 Expulsion charqe. The expulsion charge shall be capable, with specification MIL-W-64044. when initiated by the M439 Fuze, of ejecting the cargo from the warhead in less than 100 msec under all delivery conditions. 3.7 Reliability. T

14、he reliability of the M267 Warhead will be based on reliability of payload ejection from the Warhead case and the functioning reliability of the individual grenades. minimum acceptable value (MAV) of payload ejection shall be 93% and the best operational capability (BOC) shall be 97% at 90% confiden

15、ce. The MAV for the M75 grenades shall be 93.7% with a BOC of 98% at 90% confidence. The 3.8 Interfaces. The warhead should be compatible with the MK66 Mod 1 motor and have a fuze charging umbilical lead capable of interfacing with the fuze charge receptacles of the M260, M261, M227 and M158AlE1 Lau

16、nchers. The main event fuze in the warhead shall be compatible with the electrical characteristics of the Rocket Management Subsystems on Army helicopters. 3.9 Fluoroscopic or radioqraphic inspection. The M267 Warhead shall be fluoroscopically or radiographically examined to verify to the extent pos

17、sible the presence and positioning of all components as well as the absence of foreign material. selected for first article testing shall be radiographically examined with Government approved equipment prior to static or field x-ray firing. permit proper evaluation as determined by the responsible t

19、ead shall withstand rough handling when tested as specified in 4.5.2, and, with the exception of the five foot drop test, shall comply with the ballistic test as specified in 4.5.8. The warhead shall be safe to handle and dispose of following the five foot drop test. 3.12 Temperature. The warhead sh

20、all withstand exposure to and function after a storage temperature of -50% +5*, 709 - + 159, and 160* + 59. exposure to secured cargo vibration as specified in 4.5.3 and shall comply with the ballistic test as specified in 4.5.8. 3.13 Secured carqo vibration. The warhead shall withstand 3.14 Helicop

21、ter vibration. The warhead shall withstand exposure to helicopter vibration as specified in 4.5.4 and shall comply with the ballistic test as specified in 4.5.8. 3.15 Forty foot drog. The warhead assembled to the rocket motor and packaged for shipment shall withstand a 40 foot drop and be safe to di

22、spose of. 3.16 Leakaqe. The warhead shall withstand exposure to the leakage test as specified in 4.5.8 and shall comply with the ballistic test as specified in 4.5.10. Failure criteria shall be water entry into the cargo compartment. 3.17 Charqe circuit continuity (M439 fuze unarmed) . The continuit

23、y of the charge circuit through the umbilical lead shall be acceptable as measured by the M433/M439 Fuze Continuity Test Set. The warhead must show proper fuze continuity before assembly into a complete rocket assembly. 3.18 Warhead performance. The completely assembled round in flight configuration

24、 shall be ballistically tested to comply with the requirements of this specification. 3.19 Data requirements. The contractor shall generate data in accordance with the requirements of the data item descriptions cited in 4.5.9. 3.20 First article inspection. This specification makes provision for fir

25、st article inspection. Unless ot

26、herwise specified on the drawing, all parts and assemblies shall be free from burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, anblended radii, surface defects, dirt, grease, rust, porosity, warpage, burn marks, checks, blisters, excess flash, corrosion products and other foreign matter. The cleaning method used

27、shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agents. Surface coating shall be cwtinuous except for a few slight scratches not exposing base material. The loading and assembly operations shall be performed in a thorough, workmanlike manner consistent with the

28、 best practices of the industry. All required markings shall be neat and legible. 3.21.2 Electrical. Cable assemblies and wires shall be dressed in such manner as to prevent pinching or chafing of the wire insulation. Ends of wires shall be free from flux, chips, dirt, grease, rust or foreign materi

29、al. 4 . QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor may use his own or a

30、ny other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Un

31、less-stherwise specified herein or in the contract, the provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall apply and are made a part of this specification. 6 The Government reserves the right to perform any 4.2 Classification of inspections. Unless otherwise specified herein, or in the contract, the following types of

32、 inspection shall be conducted on this item: a. First Article Inspection b. 33、t a first article sample as designated by the Contracting Officer for evaluation in accordance with the provisions of 4.3.2. The test shall be conducted using Government approved equipment and procedures. * 4.5.8 Ballistic test. The requirement for the warhead is to provide proper

36、delivery of M75 grenades into target areas from 1000 to 6000 meters from the launching helicopter. Performance shall be evaluated by ground launching a sample of 36 M267 warheads, assembled with MK66 Mod 1 motors, from any of the compatible launchers. Twelve warheads shall be conditioned at -50* 5 5

37、*, 12 warheads at +70* f. 15* and 12 warheads at +160* + 5* for a minimum of 8 hours. charging shall be accomplished by a Government approved Ballistic Firing Test set using fuze time settings of 2, 8, 14 and 20 seconds. Warhead samples shall contain a dye marker to provide a high visibility indicat

38、ion of cargo ejection. Time from launch to cargo ejection and grenade function shall be detected and recorded. 39、grenades fail to function, the lot shall be rejected. 4.5.9 Data requirements. The Contractor shall submit a quality inspection test demonstration and evaluation report in accordance with Data Item Descriptions DI-R-1721 and DI-R-1724 giving the detailed test results. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packaging and

40、mar king. Not applicable. 5.2 Ammunition data cards. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The warheads covered by this specificati

44、on are intended for use as part of the 2.75 Inch Folding Fin Aerial IZocket System. 6.2 Ordering data. See MIL-A-48078. 6.3 Submission of inspection equipment for design approvals. When this specification is used in an acquisition which incorporates a DD Form 1423, Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) I the data requirements identified below shall be developed as specified by an approved Data Item Description (DD Form

46、1664) and delivered in accordance with the approved CDRL incorporated into the contract. When the provisions of DAR 7-104.9 (n) (2) are invoked and the DD Form 1423 is not used, the data specified below shall be delivered by the contractor in accordance with the contract or purchase order requirment
