The test detergent shall be evaluated against the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AAKC) standard detergent (without optical brightener) (see 6.5). Wash tests shall be performed in a

7、 Wrg-O-Tometer (see 6.6) (or a laboratory scale, agitator- type washing machine) in 1 L of 0.25 percent detergent solution at 49 f lC and at a speed of 120 cycles per minute. Place 25 g (4 by 5 inch swatches) of white cotton fabric, bleached desized (see 6.7), into the solution and wash for 20 minut

8、es. Hand squeeze the swatches and rinse for 5 minutes in the Terg-O-Tometer in 1 L of tap water at 15 to 2loC and 120 cycles per minute. Hand squeeze the swatches and press between two pieces of clean, white cotton sheeting. Air dry at ambient temperature. Evaluate the swatches visually to determine

9、 if the effect (absence of optical brighteners) obtained with the test detergent is equal to that obtained with the AAKC Standard Detergent without optical brightener. A standard untraviolet light source, such as a Macbeth lamp, Model AKP-82 (or equivalent), (Macbeth Corporation, Newburgh, NY 12550)
