28、ification stating that the welders, welding operators and tack welders who will perform structural steel welding have been qualified for the particular type of work to be done in accordance with the requirements of AWS D1.1/D1.1M, Section 4, prior to commencing fabrication. The certificate shall lis
29、t the qualified welders by name and shall specify the code and procedures under which qualified and the date of qualification. Prior qualification will be accepted if welders have performed satisfactory work under the code for which qualified within the preceding three months. Require welders to rep
30、eat the qualifying tests when their work indicates a reasonable doubt as to proficiency. Those passing the requalification tests will be recertified. Those not passing will be disqualified until passing. All expenses in connection with qualification and requalification shall be borne by the Contract
31、or.1.4.2 WorkmanshipWorkmanship shall be of the highest grade and in accordance with the best modern practices to conform with the specifications for the item of work being furnished. Welding shall be continuous along the entire area of contact except where tack welding is permitted. Exposed connect
32、ions of work in place shall not be tack welded. Exposed welds shall be ground smooth. Exposed surfaces of work in place shall have a smooth finish.1.4.3 Detail DrawingsSubmit detail drawings for metalwork and machine work prior to fabrication. With the detail drawings submit a materials list for fab
33、ricated items. Detail drawings for metalwork and machine work shall include catalog cuts, templates, fabrication and assembly details, and type, grade, and class of material as appropriate. 35、 data for each size of vault being fabricated.PART 2 PRODUCTS2.1 MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT2.1.1 Bolts and Cap ScrewsAll bolts shall be steel and shall conform to ASTM A 307, Grade A, Hex.2.1.2 NutsShall conform to ASTM A 563, Grade A, Hex, and shall be of the same finish as the fasteners they are used
36、 with.2.1.3 WashersFlat washers shall conform to the requirements of ASTM A 276 (stainless steel).2.1.4 Tube SteelStructural tubing shall conform to ASTM A 500/A 500M, Grade B.2.1.5 Structural SteelCarbon grade steel shall conform to ASTM A 36/A 36M2.1.6 Rolling Cover ShellCover shell material shall
37、 be as indicated on the drawings and specified as follows:2.1.6.1 AluminumAluminum sheets and strips shall comply with ASTM B 209, alloy and temper best suited for the purpose.2.1.7 Wheel Assemblies2.1.7.1 WheelsProvide the heavy duty industrial type that is the product of a company regularly engage
38、d in the production of wheels. The wheels shall have solid rubber tires that are molded onto spoked or solid centers that are either cast, forged, or machined. The rubber shall have a hardness rating of 80-90 Shore A durometer. Tires shall not stretch or work loose from the metal center. The wheels
39、shall have roller bearings and shall be pressure lubricated from a grease fitting when available. The wheels shall work in a temperature range of -40 to +95 degrees C-40 to +200 degrees F. The entire wheel assembly shall be symmetrical and shall spin concentrically around the bearing. Finish metal c
40、enters with either an epoxy paint, a powder coating, or manufacture galvanized. The diameter of the carrier wheels shall be 150 mm6 inches and the diameter of the side wheels shall be 80 mm3-1/4 inches. 42、.7.2 AxlesThe axle assembly shall be stainless steel and shall be eccentrically machined. A slotted adjustment cam plate shall be attached to the axle by welding as indicated on the drawings. Eccentric offset shall be a minimum of 6 mm1/4-inch. Diameter, tolerance and finish of the mating axle shaft
43、 shall be coordinated with the wheel manufacturers diameters and tolerances for a close fit. All fits and tolerances shall be indicated on the shop drawings. Material, weld, and nut shall all be a 300 series stainless steel.2.2 FABRICATION2.2.1 GeneralMaterial must be straight before being laid off
44、or worked. If straightening is necessary it shall be done by methods that will not impair the metal. Sharp kinks or bends shall be cause for rejection of the material. Material with welds will not be accepted except where welding is definitely specified, indicated or otherwise approved. Bends shall
45、be made by approved dies, press brakes or bending rolls. Where heating is required, precautions shall be taken to avoid overheating or warping the metal and it shall be allowed to cool in a manner that will not impair the original properties of the metal. Proposed flame cutting of material other tha
46、n structural steel shall be subject to approval and shall be indicated on detail drawings. Shearing shall be accurate and all portions of the work shall be neatly finished. Corners shall be square and true unless otherwise shown on the drawings. Re-entrant cuts shall be filleted to a minimum radius of 20 mm3/4 inch unless otherwise approved
