12、egime for wheeled fireextinguishers in which the extinguishant can be expelled either by gas stored under pressurein the cylinder of the extinguisher or by the release of gas from a compressed gas container.This Standard contains a maintenance schedule table set on a time-elapsed basis and range,ref

13、erred to as the following levels:Level 1 Six-monthly.Level 2 Yearly.Level 3 Three-yearly.Level 4 Five-yearly for New Zealand and six yearly for Australia.Level 5 After use.In New Zealand, pressure testing of all fire extinguishers over 500 mL in water capacity mustbe carried out at an approved test

14、station in accordance with the requirements of theNew Zealand Dangerous Goods Regulations (Class 2 Gases) and the Department of Labourpublication Guide to Gas Cylinders.The testing revolves around a five-yearly test cycle once the extinguisher is five years of ageand has been discharged. 29、D LOCATION OF FIRE EXTINGUISHERS2.1.1 General Every extinguisher shall bear a permanently fixed, unique, siteidentification mark, suitable for cross referencing with maintenance records. The mark mayconsist of the following:(a) Written numbers, letters or a combination of both.(b) Barcode.(c) Magnet

30、ic or electronic strip or similar, e.g. smart chip.2.1.2 Location Where there are more than 10 extinguishers located in or on a property,the type, size, rating, location and identification of wheeled fire extinguishers in or on aproperty shall be recorded either on a site plan or other means clearly

31、 describing theextinguishers and the location.2.1.3 Records A maintenance record system shall be provided by the property owner oroccupier to sequentially record maintenance carried out on fire extinguishers and shall containthe following:(a) Type of extinguisher, i.e water, foam.(b) Date of manufac

32、ture.(c) Record of the last level 1, 2, 3, and 5 service.(d) Any defects and remedial action.(e) Record of missing or misplaced extinguishers or any other applicable comments.A maintenance record system may take the form of (a) log book;(b) computer-based record system; or(c) Any other permanent rec

33、ord system that is capable of easy interpretation or generallyeasily interpreted reports and is to be cross referenced against an individualextinguisher.The maintenance record shall be available for the property at all times. Where a log book isused, it shall be substantially bound and not in a loos

34、e-leaf format, and shall have numberedpages in triplicate. The log book shall include the signature of the owner, agent or serviceperson and have a required distribution of copies printed on each page, as follows:(a) Original owner/occupier/agent.(b) Duplicateservice person.(c) Triplicate retain in

37、aintenance work is required to be carried out by experiencedpersonnel in accordance with recognized safety procedures. Persons with the necessarytraining and experience, with access to the requisite tools, equipment and information, andcapable of carrying out the inspection and maintenance procedure

38、s of this Standard areconsidered to be experienced personnel. 40、astes. Legislation, controlling the transfer,handling, storage, sale and ownership of halon, exists in most Australian States. In NewZealand it is an offence under the Ozone Layer Protection Act to release controlledsubstances such as halons, into the atmosphere while installing, servicing, modifyin

41、g, testingor dismantling a fire extinguisher. In disposing of waste material, individuals or organizationsservicing fire extinguishers should familiarize themselves with the applicable legislation andensure that this is complied with.2.2 INSPECTION AND SERVICE2.2.1 Classification For maintenance rec

42、ord tag purposes, maintenance work involvinginspection and servicing shall be classified according to inspection and service intervals (seeClause 2.2.2) as follows:(a) The number 1 shall denote six-monthly intervals.(b) The number 2 shall denote yearly intervals.(c) The number 3 shall denote three-y

43、early intervals.(d) The number 4 shall denote five-yearly intervals in New Zealand and six-yearlyintervals in Australia (see Clause 2.2.2).(e) The number 5 shall denote after-use procedures.2.2.2 Periodicity of maintenance procedures The periodicity of the different intervalsof maintenance of exting

44、uishers shall be as set out in the appropriate maintenance schedulesin Section 3 and is referred to as levels 1 to 5. Following the initial maintenance interval, asgiven above, the normal intervals of maintenance shall apply.Commencement of the maintenance schedules, given in Section 3, shall be bas

45、ed on themonth and year of charging the extinguisher, or the month and year of the last pressure test,whichever is the later. If the month and year of manufacture or last pressure test is unknown,a Level 4 maintenance procedure shall be applied to the extinguisher.Where the maintenance status of an

46、extinguisher cannot be reliably re-established, a Level 4maintenance procedure shall be carried out on the extinguisher and recorded in accordancewith the appropriate requirements of this Section.2.2.3 Additional maintenance procedures2.2.3.1 Aggressive environment Unless protected from the effects

47、of an aggressiveenvironment, extinguishers located in such environments shall be subject to a morecomprehensive maintenance schedule by conducting a Level 4 inspection every three yearsas set out in Section 3 (see Table 3.1).Aggressive service environments include these defined by the regulatory aut

48、hority or asfollows:(a) Exterior situations exposed to the sun, ultraviolet radiation, wind, rain or salt spray.(b) Corrosive atmospheres.(c) Dusty or moisture-laden atmospheres.(d) Environments which subject the extinguisher to continuous or intense vibrations.(e) Environments having extremes of te
