、plies:Optical defects are bubbles, fibres, hairs, or other foreign matter visible withIn the material, and surfacefaults.3 Apparatus- Amatt white screen large enough to accommodate the largest transparent elements;- a matt black screen of similar dimensions to the white screen;- Brinell inspection m
、icroscope of approximately 10 times magnification. fitted with a graticule graduatedInO,1 mm;- two fluorescent tubes of not less than 40 W each.4 Test specimensThe specimens are whole transparent elements. The entire surface of each specimen shall be carefullycleaned, taking care not to cause scratc
、hing or crazing.5 Procedure5.1 InspectIon of defects. The white screen shall be set up at a suitable height and be evenly illuminated. The test specimen shall besupported parallel to the screen and examined for any defects. The test specimen shall then be placed parallel to the black screen situated i
、n a dark room so that the onlylight on the specimen comes from the two fluorescent tubes placed parallel to the two opposite edges of thespecimen and in the same plane. The illuminated tesl specimen shall be examined for any defects.5.2 Measurement of defectsWith the specimen under strong oblique ill
、umination the defects shall be identified and measured by usingthe microscope. The area of each defect shall be approximately compared to the nearest geometric shape.Page 4prEN 2155-6: 20006 Test ReportThe test report shall include:- reference to this standard;material type and dimensions;the batch number;the quantity;size, type and number of defects;the layout and the location.
