REQUIRED CHARACTERISTICS General Rivets, as delivered to the user shall meet all the requirements defined on the rivet standard and conform to the following c

I, AECMA PREN2345 A2 LOL23LL 0002778 L mt prEN2345 Page 4 4.7 Physical characteristics 4.2.1 Surface condition appearance Rivets shall be of uniform appearance free from seams, laps, cracks, pits, scale, tool marks, shuts and any other defect detrimental to the use of
10、 the rivet. (See clause 5.1.1). I 4.2.2 Surface treatment Surface treatment shall be as defined on the appropriate rivet standard. (See clause 5.1.2). 4.2.3 Heat treatment Heat treatment delivery state shall be as defined on the appropriate rivet standard. (See clause 5.1.3). 4.2.4 Grain flow The gr
11、ain flow shall be continuous and follow the contour of the part O (See clause 5.1.4). 4.2,5 Grain size Grain size shall be smaller than No. 3,5 in accordance with EN2002-8 (See clause 5.1.5) 4.2.6 Eutectic Melting (Liquation) I Rivets shall be free of eutectic melting (liquation) when examined at a
12、magnification of at least 400. (See clause 5.1.6). 4.2.7 Marking and colour identification The identification marking symbol shall be as defined by the rivet standard. The marking position shall be at the manufacturers option as indicated by the rivet standard, unless otherwise instructed by the use
13、r. (See clause 5.1.7). The marking shall not contain any sharp edges or have generated any other defects adversely affecting proper setting of the rivets. If colour identification is required, the colour shall be as specified in the rivets standard, and shall be uniform. O 4.3 Geometric and dimensio
14、nal characteristics The geometrical and dimensional characteristics shall conform to the requirements of the rivet standard. 4.4 Mechanical characteristics I The mechanical properties shall be checked either by a double shear test or by a terisile test supplemented by a hardness test. 4.4.1 hub1 t.
15、shear The rivets shall be tested in accordance with 5.3.1 and the results shaL1 conform to the values (of table 1 of Annex. O i) Ir1 preparation. 16、form to the values of table 2 of Annex. 4.4.3 Hardness Rivets and rivet wire from the same batch shall be tested in accordance with 5.3.3. The hardness values o the rivet wire shall conform to the requirements of the relevant material standard. The hardness values of the rivets shall correspond to t
17、he hardness values of the rivet wire with a tolerance of 2 5 %. 5 METHODS OP INSPECTION AND TESTS 5.1 Physical characteristics 5.1.1 Surface condition - appearances Rivets shall be visually examined with or without the aid of an enlarging apparatus but, the enlargement ratio is limited to 6. 5.1.2 S
18、urface treatment Unless otherwise specified, methods are left to the discretion of the manufacturer. 5.1.3 Heat treatment Heat treatment condition is verified by clause 5.3. 5.1.4 Grain flow Rivets sampled from the batch as per 6.5 shall be cut longitudinally along a plane of symmetry and subjected
19、to macroscopic examination using the appropriate reagents. 5.1.5 Grain size Rivets sampled from the batch as per 6.5, shall be cut through the shank diameter normal to the rivet centre line and subjected to macroscopic examination using the appropriate reagents. 5.1.6 Eutectic melting (Liquation) Ri
20、vets produced from solution treated materials sampled from the batch as per 6.5, shall be cut through the shank diameter normal to the rivet centre line and after polishing and mildly etching subjected to microscopic examination. 5.1.7 Marking , and identification of colours Verification by visual i
21、nspection. 5.2 Dimensions Methods are left to the discretion of the manufacturer. In cace of dispute, the projection method, at a magnification of 25 for diameters up to 6 mm and 10 for diameters above, shall be used as the referee method. The check shall be made at three equidistant points around t
22、he rivet, AECMA PREN23Li5 82 LOL23LL 0003000 4 = prICN2345 Page 6 5,3 Mechanical properties 5.3.1 Shear Rivets sampled from the batch as per 6.5 shall be tested in accordance with EN2002-11 I). Hivets are to remain undriven for this test. If the rivets are not long enough to protrude through the out
23、er flanges of the test apparatus, tests can be carried out on two rivets placed so that their shank ends butt at the centre tongue of the apparatus. 5.3.2 Tension Rivet wire samples as defined in 6.4.shall be tested in accordance with EN2002-1. 5.3.3 Hardness e Rivet wire samples as defined in 6.4 a
24、nd rivets sampled from the batch as per 6.8.2, in the delivery heat treatment condition shall be tested in accordance with EN2002-7. 6 ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS 6.1 Responsibility Sufficient inspection and testing shall be done by the rivet manufacturer to assure that the product conforms to all requi
25、rements of this Technical Specification, see 7.3. 6.2 Qualification Qualification is the recognition of the capability of a manufacturer to manufacture a product in accordance with this technical specification and to guarantee its production at an acceptable quality level. 6.3 Batching For the purpo
26、se of all tests, inspection and supply a batch of rivets shall be defined as : Finished rivets of the same form, diameter and length made by the same process from one material batch subsequently heat treated and surface treated under identical conditions at the same time in the same equipment and pr
27、oduced as one run, without machine reset. The maximum mass of any batch shall be limited to 25 kg. 6.4 Samples of rivet wire Sainples of rivet wire, intended for tests shall be taken to mean wire coming from the same coils as the rivets of the batch that it represents. The wire shall have been heat
28、treated identically with the rivets of the batch. 29、batch indicating as a minimum. Relationship of rivet material wire batch to rivet batch. Copy of rivet material wire batch records and test data. Rivet batch heat treatment records. Rivet batch inspection and test records. Final inspection clearance. These records and all associated data shall be ke

Packaging Rivets shall be supplied in strong durable containers capable of protec
37、ting the product from physical damage and corrosion. Any additional special packaging requirements shall be specified on the purchase order. If the rivets supplied belong to different batches they shall be separately packed and identified. Failing special specifications stated in the order, the numb
38、er of rivets in one package is left to the manufacturers discretion. maximum mass is however 25 kg. A copy of the Manufacturers release note related to the rivet batch shall be included in the package and may additionally be despatched under separate cover ifdesired. The 7.2 Marking 7.2.1 following
