8、e marking of aerospace products. It is applicable whenever referenced in the definition document of the product. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated referen
9、ces, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. TR 3198, Aerospace series Manufacturers identification monograms and marks for EN aerospace products. 1)3 Aim 3.1 General The marking allows the identification of the products and/or their manufacturer. 3.2 Produc
10、t identification All aerospace EN parts shall carry the EN part number if space is available; the EN part number shall take precedence over any manufacturers part number. The marking shall be as complete as possible. The marking styles shall be selected in accordance with the styles given in 4.2 bas
11、ed on the physical attributes of the component to be marked. Style A ensures a complete identification and is the preferred method for all parts. The other styles shall only be used when style A is not physically achievable or when specified in the product standard or definition document. Parts mark
12、ed in accordance with styles other than A will need a complementary check on parameters such as: form, dimensions, material, surface treatment etc. to completely define the product. 3.3 Manufacturer identification It is carried out by means of their monogram or name, see Table 1. It is the manufactu
13、rers responsibility to register their monograms with ASD-STAN, if they wish to manufacture EN parts which require marking in accordance with this standard. 1) Published as ASD Technical Report at the date of publication of this standard. prEN 2424:20064 4 Marking practice 4.1 Position It shall be ar
14、ranged so as: not to be detrimental to the function of the product; to ensure, as far as possible, product identification in the assembled condition. It shall be stated in the definition document for the product. 4.2 Marking style See Table 1. The marking style will depend on the space available and
15、 the style(s) chosen shall be quoted on the product definition. The styles below are given in order of preference of use (“A” being first), except when otherwise specified in the product standard or definition document. For products needing special identification that is not defined in Table 1 (for
16、instance: marking of the left-hand thread for threaded products), specific instructions shall be given in the definition document. Marking, additional to that defined in Table 1 on this specification, may be added at the manufacturers discretion, in order to prevent confusion with other standards sy

24、arkings shall be permanent and shall not prejudice the requirements or performance of the product. Unless the marking method is stated in the definition document of the product: the choice of the procedure is left to the option of the manufacturer; the marking shall be indented or embossed. The intr
25、usion or protrusion of the characters shall be comprised between 0,05 mm to 0,25 mm and shall remain within the dimensional tolerance envelope. 4.4 Legibility The marking shall be legible without magnification after a possible surface treatment. The character size shall not be less than 0,8 mm. The preferred character size is 1,5 mm. Where space will not permit, character height may be smaller than 0,8 mm but greater than 0,3 mm. If this character height requirement cannot be respected, the marking shall be made according type G.
