8、specimens. This test method is suitable for comparative tests regarding the quality of a foaming adhesive when thickness is taken into account, in order to obtain maximum mechanical characteristics in relation to the expansion ratio. It preferably applies to low expansion ratios, .e. I 50 % measured

9、 according to the method EN 2667-3. 13、ing machine The test machine shall be approved to IS0 7500-1 and so designed that the breaking load lies between 10 % and 90 % of the selected full-scale capacity. 15、 an accuracy of k 5 OC. Band saw. Thermqelectric couple. 4 Test panels, test specimens 4.1 Test panels The shape and the dimensions of the panels shall be in conformity with figure 1 or figure 2. Precut test panel according to figure 2 shall preferably be used for titanium alloy and steel materials

16、described in 4.1.1. 4.1 .l Materials The following materials are normally to be used : or aluminium alloy 2024-T3 in accordance with EN 2090 aluminium alloy 2014A-T4 or T42, in accordance with EN 2088. At test temperatures exceeding 150 OC, one of the following materials shall be used : corrosion re

17、sisting steel FE-PM-61, in accordance with EN 2538 titanium alloy TI-P64001, in accordance with EN 3456. 4.1.2 Surface preparation Surface preparation before bonding shall be in accordance with EN 2334 for aluminium alloys or with EN 2497 for titanium, unless otherwise specified in the material stan

18、dard. Surface preparation for steel shall be specified in the material standard. 4.1.3 Bonding Bonding of the test panels shall take place within 4 h after completion of the preliminary treatment. Otherwise, the treated surfaces of the test panels shall be coated with a protective primer. The bond t

19、hickness a, (see figure 4) of the cured foaming adhesive shall be 40 % to 50 % smaller than the final thickness after free expansion as determined in accordance with EN 2667-3. Conformance with the bond thickness to be achieved shall be ensured by the insertion of a suitable spacer made according to

20、 figure 3. The spacer avoids the flection of the upper jig due to pressure and shall be coated with release agent before use to avoid adhesion on spacer. The application of the foaming adhesive system (adhesive and primer, if necessary) as well as the curing shall be carried out in accordance with t

21、he adhesive manufacturer?s instructions and the material standard. An adhesive strip of (12,5 i 0,5) mm width shall be applied to the lower test panel. The assembly shall then be completed with the spacer and the upper test panel. Curing shall be carried out in an air circulating oven, autoclave or

22、heating press. Page 5 prEN 2667-1 : 1996 4.1.4 The final test panels shall be conditioned and tested after a storage period of at least 16 h after curing and under the following conditions. Storage of test panels after curing - temperature : (23 * 2) OC - relative humidity : (50 5) % 4.2 Test specim

23、ens 4.2.1 Cutting test specimens The cutting of the test panels into test specimens shall be done with an appropriate tool such as a band saw, in accordance with figures 4 and 5. The number of teeth and the set of the saw, as well as the feed and cutting speed shall be chosen so to minimize thermal

24、and mechanical stressing. The cuts shall be straight, parallel and perpendicular to the two edges. To cut out test panels no cooling fluid shall be used. The cut edges shall be deburred with a fine file or abrasive paper. Excess adhesive is not to be removed. Each test specimen shall be identified w

25、ith an individual reference mark so as to locate the number of the test panel from which it originated as well as its position on this panel. 4.2.2 Quantity There shall be a minimum of five individual test specimens for each test. 5 Procedure Tests shall be performed at the temperatures specified in

26、 the material standard. If the test temperature differs from the ambient temperature, the heat-up rate or the cooling rate of the test specimen shall be less than 10 OC/min. For all tests carried out at a temperature other than ambient, load shall be applied after stabilization at the specified temp

27、erature for a minimum of 10 min and a maximum of 30 min (unless otherwise specified by the supplier). For all temperatures with the exception of the ambient temperature, control of the temperature of the test specimen is carried out by means of a thermoelectric couple fixed into the test specimen, i

28、n accordance with figure 6. Any misalignment of the specimen configuration during clamping into the tensile testing machine shall be compensated by suitable means e.g. by interposed blocks at each end of the test piece (see figure 5). The test piece shall be held between the jaws at (50 L W The dime
