15、ean Standard specifies glass fibre thermosetting preimpregnates for aerospace applications. The specification is applicable to material containing unidirectional or woven fabric supplied as flat sheet or wound onto reels. The specification also includes unidirectional reinforcements which consist of
16、 glass fibre warp yarns held together by not more than 5% mass/mass of fibres other than glass. Three dimensional woven forms or chopped strand non-woven mats are not covered. This standard does not cover single glass rovings impregnated with thermosetting resin. A series of EN material standards de

37、tch A number of rolls or sheets that are impregnated in one single continuous operation that conforms to an accepted manufacturing method. 3.2 Preimpregnate Woven fabric or unidirectional fibre sheet or tape impregnated with a matrix resin, and suitably processed (B-staged) for storage, handling pur
38、poses and curing by heat and pressure without further additives. 3.3 Storage Life (NOTE : sometimes known as shelf life) Period of time from the impregnation date during which the preimpregnate, when stored under the specified storage and workshop conditions: - keeps all its physical, chemical and m
39、echanical properties conforming to the standard requirements. - is covered by the manufacturers guarantee. 3.4 Work Life Cumulative period under workshop conditions during which the preimpregnate remains processable and will meet the requirements of the material standard and/or the IPS. 41、ion. 3.6 Woven fabric Glass fibre yarns woven into a fabric of any two dimensional weave pattern. 3.7 Unidirectional sheet and tape A planar array of parallel glass fibre yarns. When required, stabilising fibres of another material (e.g. aramid fibre) may be stitched at intervals into the array at 9
42、0“ to the yarn orientation. 3.8 Orientation of Fibres Traditionally, the direction of the Oo fibres is parallel to the warp of the fabric. 3.9 Material standard The material standard lists data describing the performance of the material group. It gives the requirements, limits and test methods for t
43、he qualification of a product group. NOTE: This performance level is directly related to the design allowable of that group. 3.10 Individual product specification (IPS) The individual product specification gives the expected performance about a specific product of one manufacturer and its performanc
44、e. NOTE: Each product has a separate specification. The individual performance and the acceptance values of the product for release testing are listed, including the requirements for physicochemical testing. 3.1 1 Qualification See EN 2000 NOTE: This demonstrates that the manufacturers and the preim
45、pregnate supplied meet the requirements as laid down in this specification and the relevant material standard. The demonstration is given by the approval of the manufacturers quality system and the results of the qualification testing. 3.12 Side qualification Side qualification is a reduced qualific
46、ation program as a result of minor changes in the original qualified material. 3.13 Screening tests Screening tests are tests performed by the manufacturer on samples of material made according to the requirements of this specification and the relevant material standard to evaluate the suitability o
47、f the material for qualification and specific production requirement, when identified. 3.14 Qualification testing Qualification testing is that performed on representative production quantities of a specific product from a particular manufacturing source to determine whether the product will meet th
48、e full requirements of this specification and the relevant material standard. NOTE: These results are also used to establish the individual product specification. 3.15 Mandated body See EN 3042 NOTE: This is the body with the responsibility of overseeing the qualification of a preimpregnate to the r
49、equirements of the relevant part of this specification and the relevant material standard. 3.16 Compatibility Is that the performance of the specific product may be affected by other products (e.g. adhesive films, potting compound, etc.) NOTE: Co-cured materials shall be fully cured in one cure cycle. 3.17 Testing that is performed by the manufacturer on each production batch to ensure that the product supplied is of the same type form and quality as that supplied for qualification. Release testing/Supplier quality control testing 3.18 Acceptance
