17、ade from materials that ensure the finished sleevings conform to the product standard. 4.1 Material types See product standards. 4.2 Finish The sleeving, both before and after unrestricted shrinkage, shall be free from bubbles, pinholes, creases and other defects that may affect performance. 4.3 Dim

19、s recommended in Annex A. The use by date shall be the guaranteed minimum storage time for which the sleeving retains the “as supplied” internal diameter. Following unrestricted shrinkage in accordance with the product standard, the sleeving shall conform to the internal diameter and wall thickness

20、requirements as specified in the product standard. In the event that the shelf life specimens fail the requirements of the product standard, delivery of any product still held by the manufacturer or distributors shall be halted until samples of each batch in storage are tested to confirm that they s

21、atisfy the original recovery qualification requirements, after which release can be resumed. In the event of failure the Approval Authority is to be notified. 4.7 Colours See product standards for available colours. The colours shall be a reasonable match to one of those specified in IEC 60304. 4.8

23、 Required properties The properties of the sleevings, tested according to the methods described hereafter shall comply with the values given in the product standards. prEN 4708-001:2017 (E) 5 6 Test methods For each product standard, tests shall be as given in Table 2. 6.1 Shelf life tests Sufficien

24、t quantities of each of the sleeves used for qualification shall be retained to provide the test samples for the conducting of the shelf life test for 60 months. Shorter if specified in the product standard Tests shall be conducted at 12 monthly intervals. The sleeves shall be stored at a temperatur

25、e of (23 3) C and a relative humidity between 45 % and 75 %. Measure the as supplied internal diameter and then fully recover the sleeves in accordance with the product standard. Measure the recovered internal diameter and wall thickness .The measurements shall be made in accordance with IEC 60684-2

26、, Clause 3. 6.2 Scrape abrasion 6.2.1 Apparatus Shall be in accordance with EN 6059-403 except that the test mandrels shall be a smooth metal mandrel. 6.2.2 Preparation of specimens Two (2) sleeves 200 mm in length shall be recovered onto test mandrels of diameter as follows: Specimen A: 10 % greate

27、r than the minimum internal diameter of the fully recovered sleeving as specified in the product standard. Specimen B: 10 % smaller than the maximum internal diameter of the as supplied sleeving as specified in the product standard. 6.2.3 Method The test shall be conducted at ambient temperature wit

28、h the size and load as specified in the product standard. The test shall be conducted without the electrical contact between the needle and the test mandrel. Each cycle shall consist of the forward and backward movement of needle. The action should continue until the needle rubs through the sleeve m

29、axing contact with the mandrel or the number of cycles exceeds 10 times the required average number of cycles specified in the product standard. The number of cycles shall be recorded. Four (4) tests shall be carried out on each specimen whereby for each test the specimen is moved forward approximat

30、ely 30 mm and rotated through 90 degrees. Calculate the arithmetic mean of the eight (8) measurements from the two (2) specimens. Recalculate the arithmetic mean by ignoring all the values greater than the original mean. This shall be recorded as the result. 6.2.4 Requirement A specimens shall withs

41、8.1 Qualification 8.1.1 General requirements See EN 9133. 8.1.2 Qualification conditions The sleevings shall be submitted for qualification tests on spools, in coils or sufficient cut lengths. Each spool, coil or sufficient cut lengths shall have a label containing information given in 9.1. 8.1.3 Qu

42、alification tests See Table 2. Qualification tests shall be performed on sizes taken from the top, middle and bottom of the manufacturer or suppliers range for each different material, unless otherwise indicated in Table 2. Select samples for the shelf life tests. Due to the duration of this test ap

43、proval may be granted prior to completion. Approval shall be granted subject to the provisions of subclause 4.6 and will be subject to review on completion. 8.2 Maintenance of qualification 8.2.1 Periodic tests See Table 2, tests shall be successfully carried out every 60 months for products in prod

44、uction or when production is restarted following a production stoppage of greater than 36 months. The maintenance qualification tests shall be performed on specimens taken at random in accordance with EN 9133. 8.3 Routine tests 8.3.1 Delivery conditions See Table 2. The production routine tests shal

45、l be applied to samples, taken at random, from every batch, either compound or sleeving, and shall consist of the tests listed in Table 2. The tests for compound batches shall be applied to the first sleeving produced from each compound batch. Samples of sleeving or compound shall be selected from e

46、ach batch and subjected to the tests detailed in Table 2 before release. prEN 4708-001:2017 (E) 9 8.3.2 Sleeving batch A batch of sleeving shall consist of sleeving of the same type, dimensions and colour produced from a single mix at any one time, provided that the cross-linking conditions are main

47、tained constant throughout. For continuous processing a single mix shall be defined by the manufacturer or supplier to the satisfaction of the approving authority. 8.3.3 Compound batch A batch of compound shall consist of that quantity of compound material mixed, and/or homogeneously blended at any

48、one time. For continuous processing a single mix shall be defined by the manufacturer or supplier to the satisfaction of the mandated body. 8.3.4 Random sampling retest In the event of a failure of the sleeving to conform to the requirements of a test, the batch shall be re-sampled and the test repeated using two further sets of test-pieces. Both sets shall conform to the appropriate test requirements, otherwise the sleeving shall be deemed not to conform to this standard. 9 Labelling and packaging 9.1 Labelling Each package of sleeves/sleeving shall be labelled with the following infor
