15、Buys Encore Controls MILWAUKEE-Johnson Controls, Inc. has acquired Encore Controls, a Marietta, Ga. company that makes electronic controllers for commercial applications. The company is specially known for its rack controllers, general purpose HVAC and lighting control- lers, case controls, and elec

16、tronic com- pressor and refrigerant leak monitoring controls. Phillip Smyth, Johnsons se- nior product manager for refrigeration controls, said the acquisition will help Johnson to move from the traditional electromechanical devices to electron- ic-based controls. The products will be marketed under

17、 the Johnson Controls/ PENN name. Contractor Group Adds Firms HOUSTON-Group Maintenance Ameri- ca Corp. (GroupMAC) has announced that three more companies, with combined revenues of $48 million, have signed agreements to join its network of HVAC, plumbing and electrical contracting firms. The Housto

18、n-based group now has letters of intent with 13 firms with combined an- nual revenues of $187 million. Group- MAC also has announced that James P. Norris, executive vice president of Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), will leave ACCA and become GroupMACs board chairman. Group- MAC is on

19、e of four “consolidators” that are buying up HVAC, plumbing and elec- trical contracting firms in the U.S. Honeywell, Skuttle Sign Pact MINNEAPOLIS-Honeywell has an- nounced that it signed a Strategic Sup- plier Agreement with Skuttie Manufacturing in Marietta, Ohio. The agreement calls for Skuttle,

20、 an 80-year- old manufacturer of whole-house hu- midifiers, to produce three Honeywell- designed humidifier models and three Skuttle-labeled products. The Honey- well products include two bypass mod- els and a powered flow-through model. Skuttles products include a drum-type humidifier and two steam
