Itwas subsequently reorganized as an ASME Standards Committee

12、 and its title was changed toHand Tools and Accessories. In 1996, the Committees scope was expanded to include safetyconsiderations.The purpose of B107.400 is to define essential performance and safety requirements specificallyapplicable to the various striking tools covered herein. It specifies tes

The inquirer may also include any plansor drawings that are necessary to explain the question; however, they shouldnot contain proprietary names or information.Requests that are not in this format will be rewritten in this format by th

34、dedspecifi-cally for use in driving or pulling unhardened nails andripping apart or tearing down wooden components. Itis intended to serve as a guide in selecting, testing, andusingthehandtoolscoveredherein.Itisnotthepurposeof this Standard to specify the details of manufacturing.This Standard is al

47、 a striking face on one endof the hammerhead for use in driving unhardened nailsand a claw on the opposite end for use in pulling bothheaded and headless unhardened nails, or ripping apartor tearing down wooden components.4.1.1 The striking face shall have a smooth orserrated convex shape.NOTE: Hamm

The serrated face reduces the inci-dence of bending or dislodging of nails.4.1.2 The striking face shall have a chamfer ofapproximately 45 deg (or equivalent radius) around theperimeter with a width approximately equal to one
