20、ignation applied to engineering drawings preparedto a precise scale, from which the defined item and the supporting tooling are produced directly,by photographic or other processes. The drawing presents the engineering definition graphicallyrather than by use of numerical dimensions, although some d

21、imensions may be included toestablish a base when tolerances for specific features are smaller than those for surfaces controlledby the precision contour, and for verifying those surfaces controlled by the precision contour,and for verifying stability of the drawing material. The drawing may utilize
