Failureto comply with the general requirements of SpecificationA 20/A 20M constitutes nonconformance with this specifica-tion. In case of conflict b
9、etween the requirements of thisspecification and Specification A 20/A 20M, the requirementsof this specification shall prevail.3.2 In addition to the basic requirements of this specifica-tion, certain supplementary requirements are available if addi-tional control, testing, or examination is require

Materials and Manufacture4.1 Steelmaking PracticeThe steel shall be killed andshall conform to the fine austenitic gra
11、in size requirements ofSpecification A 20/A 20M.5. Heat Treatment5.1 Except as allowed by 5.2, all plates shall be normalizedat 1950 to 2050F 1065 to 1120C and then tempered at 1290to 1400F 700 to 760C.5.2 Plates ordered without the heat treatment required by5.1 shall be furnished in either the stre
12、ss-relieved or annealedcondition, and the purchaser shall be responsible for the heattreatment of such plates to conform to 5.1.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The steel shall conform to the requirements for chemicalcomposition given in Table 1.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Commit
