Scope1.1 This specification covers two grades, 36 250 and 50345 of rolled steel structural shapes and pl

3、ates with low yieldto tensile ratio for use in building framing or for generalstructural purposes.1.2 All shape profiles with a flange width of 6 in. 150 mmand greater described in SpecificationA 6/A 6MAnnexA2 andplates up to and including 5 in. 125 mm thick are included inthis specification.1.3 Sup

4、plementary requirements are provided for use whereadditional testing or additional restrictions are required by thepurchaser. Such requirements apply only when specified in thepurchase order.1.4 When the steel is to be welded, a welding proceduresuitable for the grade of steel and intended use or se

5、rvice is tobe utilized. See Appendix X3 of Specification A 6/A 6M forinformation on weldability.1.5 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. General Requirements for Delivery3.1 Product furnished under this specification shall conformto the requirements of the current edition of SpecificationA 6

9、/A 6M for the ordered product, unless a conflict exists, inwhich case this specification shall prevail.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 The steel shall be killed, and such shall be affirmed inthe test report by a statement of killed steel, a value of 0.10 %or more for the silicon content, a value of

10、0.015 % or more forthe total aluminum content, or a value of 0.006 % or more forthe titanium content.5. Chemical Composition5.1 The heat analysis shall conform to the requirementsgiven in Table 1.5.2 The steel shall conform on product analysis to therequirements given in Table 1, subject to the prod

Tensile Requirements6.1 The product as represented by

15、 the test specimens shallconform to the requirements for tensile properties given inTable 2.7. Charpy Impact Requirements7.1 Charpy V-notch tests shall be conducted in accordancewith Specification A 673/A 673M, frequency H. The test re-sults for full-size test specimens shall conform to the followin

16、gminimum average value for Grades 36 250 and 50 345:40 ftlbf 54 J at 70F 21Cor a lower test temperature as specified in the purchase order.7.2 For shapes with a flange thickness equal to or greaterthan 112 in. 38.1 mm the test specimens shall be taken fromthe Alternate Core Location as defined in Sp

Through-thickness Tension TestsS71.1 Through-thickness tension test shall be made inaccordance with the requirements of Specification A 770/A 770M except for test frequency. The test frequency shall bethe same as the
