Scope1.1 This specification covers laser-fused stainless steel bars,plates, and shapes of structural quality for use in bolte

Ordering Information4.1 The purchaser has t

17、he responsibility to specify appro-priate requirements that are necessary to adequately describethe product ordered under this specification. Such requirementsto be considered include, but are not limited to, the following:4.1.1 Name of structural product (plate, shape, bar, or sheetpiling).4.1.2 Sh

18、ape designation and applicable dimensions includ-ing size, thickness, width, diameter, and length, if applicable.4.1.3 Type of stainless steel or UNS designation as specifiedin Table 1 of Specification A240/A240M.4.1.4 Quantity (weight or number of pieces).4.1.5 ASTM specification designation and ed

19、ition year ifother than the latest edition.4.1.6 Condition of fusion welded product, whether aswelded, or subsequently stress-relieved, or heat treated.4.1.7 Finish.4.2 The purchaser has the option to specify additionalrequirements, including but not limited to the following:4.2.1 Supplementary Requ

Materials and Manufacture5.1 Condition:5.1.1 Stainless steel starting materials shall be in accordancewith the requirements of the following specifications.5.1.1.1 For plates, sheet and strip, stainless steel startingmaterials shall be in conformance to Specification A240/A240M.5.1.1.2

22、 For bars and shapes, stainless steel starting materialsshall be in conformance to Specification A276.5.1.1.3 For bars and shapes for use in boilers and otherpressure vessels, stainless steel starting materials shall be inconformance to Specification A479/A479M.5.1.2 Bar and shape products shall be

23、in the as-fusedcondition.5.1.3 Fusion weld process shall comply with ISO 15614-11and ISO 15609-4 standards.5.1.4 The quality levels of welded joints shall be in accor-dance with ISO 13919-1 standard. If not otherwise specified,quality level B of ISO 13919-1 standard shall be met.5.1.5 The tensile st

24、rength of the fusion weldment conductedon test specimens excised from the laser fused stainless steelplates, sheet, or strip, as shown in Fig. 1, shall meet or exceedthe requirements of Table 2 of A240/A240M, A276,orA479/A479M when any of those materials are specified in thepurchase order. Tensile t

25、esting and specimen dimensions shallbe in accordance with Test Methods A370.5.1.6 Bend tests in accordance with Article 14 of TestMethods A370 shall be conducted for evaluating the ductilityof the fusion weldment. Test coupons shall be excised from thelaser fused stainless steel plates in accordance

26、 with Fig. 1. Theinside diameter for root bend test specimens shall meet thevalue(s) stipulated in the application specification, or thespecific requirements of the purchase order. Lack of penetratio

28、n orthe presence of cracks, visible to persons with normal orcorrected vision, shall be cause for rejection of the weldments.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The stainless steel shall conform to the requirements forchemical composition specified in Table 1 of SpecificationsA240/A240M, A276,orA479/A479M.6.

29、2 Methods and practices relating to chemical analysisrequired by this specification shall be in accordance with TestMethods, Practices, and Terminology A751.7. Mechanical Properties7.1 The as-fused product or test specimens excised from thefused product shall conform to the mechanical test require-m

30、ents specified in Table 2 of Specifications A240/A240M,A276,orA479/A479M when any of those materials arespecified in the purchase order.8. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations8.1 The permitted variations in dimensions shall conform tothe requirements of Section 9 of Specification A484/A484M.

31、9. Quality, Finish, and Appearance of Laser-fusedProduct9.1 The product shall be of uniform quality consistent withgood manufacturing and inspection practices. Imperfections inthe product shall be of such a nature or degree for the type andquality ordered that they shall not adversely affect the for

32、ming,machining, or fabrication of finished parts.10. Packaging, Marking, and Loading for Shipment10.1 Packaging, marking, and loading for shipment shall bein accordance with Practices A700.10.2 When specified in the contract or order and for directprocurement by or direct shipment to the U.S. Govern

33、ment,marking for shipment, in addition to requirements specified inthe contract or order, shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129 for military agencies and with Federal Standard No. 123for civil agencies.11. 34、IREMENTSThe following standardized supplementary requirements are for use when desired by the purchaser.Those that are considered suitable for use with each material specification are listed in thespecification. Other tests may be performed by agreement between the supplier and the purchaser.These a

35、dditional requirements shall apply only when specified in the order, in which event thespecified tests shall be made by the manufacturer or processor before shipment of the material.S1. Charpy V-notch Impact Test for Structural Shapes:S1.1 Charpy V-notch impact tests shall be conducted inaccordance

36、with Specifications A673/A673M and Test Meth-ods A370.S1.2 The frequency of testing, the test temperature to beused, and the absorbed energy requirements shall be asspecified on the order. Unless otherwise specified in thepurchase order, the minimum average absorbed energy for eachtest shall be 20 f

37、t lbf 27 J and the test temperature shall be70F 20C.S2. Drop-weight Test (for Material 0.625 in. 16 mm andOver in Thickness):S2.1 Drop-weight tests shall be made in accordance withTest Method E208. The specimens shall represent the materialin the final condition of heat treatment. Agreement shall be

38、reached between the purchaser and the manufacturer or pro-cessor as to the number of pieces to be tested and whether amaximum nil-ductility transition (NDT) temperature is man-datory or if the test results are for information only.S3. Intergranular Corrosion Test:S3.1 For shapes fabricated from aust

39、enitic stainless steels,tests for the presence of undesirable precipitate phases orsusceptibility of the weld joint to intergranular corrosion shallbe made by cutting and fabricating coupons obtained from thewelded test pieces, and exposing them to one or more of thepractice reagents described in Pr

40、actices A262. The purchasershall prescribe which particular practice(s) shall be followed inthe purchase order.S3.2 For shapes fabricated from duplex austenitic/ferriticstainless steels, tests for the presence of undesirable phases inthe weld joint shall be made by cutting and fabricating couponsobt

41、ained from the welded test pieces, and testing them per therequirements of Test Methods A923. The purchaser shallprescribe which particular test method(s) shall be followed inthe purchase order.S3.3 The producer shall provide a report of the test resultsfor certification and acceptance of the weld j
