Ordering Information6.1 The ordered wall thickness of the tubing shall be the total of the base metal and the metallic coating.6.2 Orders for product

Coating Properties7.1 Zinc

22、 Coating Weight Mass:7.1.1 Coating weight mass shall conform to the requirements as shown in Table 1 for the specific coating designation. Thethickness of the tube includes both the base metal and the coating.7.1.2 Use the following relationships to estimate the coating thickness from the coating we

23、ight mass:7.1.2.1 1 oz/ft2 coating weight = 1.7 mils coating thickness7.1.2.2 7.14 g/m2 coating mass = 1 m coating thickness7.2 55% Aluminum-Zinc Coating Weight Mass:7.2.1 Coating weight mass shall conform to the requirements as shown in Table 2 for the specific coating designation.7.2.2 Use the fol

25、7.4 Coating Weight Mass Tests:7.4.1 Coating weight mass tests shall be performed in accordance with the requirements of Specification A924/A924M.7.4.2 The referee method to be used shall be Test Method A90/A90M.A1076/A1076M 1327. Coating Composition7.1 For tubing produced from precoated steel sheet,

26、 the composition of the coating shall comply with the applicablespecification.7.1.1 Specification A653/A653M Coating designation for galvanized steel sheet.7.1.2 Specification A792/A792M Coating designation for 55 % aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel sheet.7.1.3 Specification A875/A875M Coating design

27、ation for zinc-5 % aluminum alloy coated steel sheet.8. Chemical Composition8.1 Base Metal:8.1.1 The base metal shall be manufactured using the basic oxygen or electric furnace process.8.1.2 The heat analysis shall conform to the requirements of Table 31.9. Mechanical Properties of Finished Tube9.1

28、The precoated mechanical tubing shall conform to the mechanical properties of Tables 42 and 53.9.2 Tests for mechanical properties shall be conducted in accordance with the methods specified in Specification A924/A924Mexcept that the requirements of A370 for the preparation of tubing-test specimen s

29、hall apply.10. Flattening Test10.1 The integrity of the weld shall be determined in conjunction with the flattening test described in SpecificationA500/A500M. The flattening test shall be made on round structural tubing. A flattening test is not required for shaped structuraltubing.11. Oiling11.1 Wh

30、en specified, tubing shall have a protective coating applied before shipping to retard white rust of the metallic coatingon closely nested products and red rust on non-recoated outside diameter weld areas. Should the order specify shipment withouta protective coating, the lubricant incidental to man

31、ufacturing will remain and the purchaser will assume responsibility for rust intransit and storage.12.
