There are manyinterrelated factors that affect the ability of a steel to cold formover

35、a given radius under shop conditions. These factorsinclude: thickness, strength level, degree of restraint, relation-ship to rolling direction, chemistry, and base metal microstruc-ture. Appendix X1 lists the suggested minimum inside radiusfor 90 cold bending for these steel sheets. They presuppose“

36、hard way” bending (bend axis parallel to rolling direction) andreasonably good shop forming practices. Where possible, theuse of larger radii or “easy way” bends are recommended forimproved performance.7.4.2 Fabricators should be aware that cracks may initiateupon bending a sheared edge. This is not

37、 considered to be afault of the steel but is rather a function of the inducedcold-work.TABLE 2 Chemical RequirementsComposition, %Heat AnalysisElement, max (unless otherwise shown)Designation C Mn P S AlACuBNiBCrBMoBVCbCTi BCS Type AD,E,F0.10 0.60 0.030 0.035 . . . 0.20 0.20 0.15 0.06 0.008 0.008 0.
