ASTM A480 A480M-2017 Standard Specification for General Requirements for Flat-Rolled Stainless and Heat-Resisting Steel Plate Sheet and Strip《扁平轧制耐热不锈钢厚板材 薄板材和带材通用要求的标准规格》.pdf

1、Designation: A480/A480M 17Standard Specification forGeneral Requirements for Flat-Rolled Stainless and Heat-Resisting Steel Plate, Sheet, and Strip1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A480/A480M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption

2、or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense.1.

3、Scope*1.1 This specification2covers a group of general require-ments that, unless otherwise specified in the purchase order orin an individual specification, shall apply to rolled steel plate, sheet, and strip, under each of the following specificationsissued by ASTM: Specifications A240/A240M, A263,

Within the text, theSI units are shown in brackets, except that when A480M isspecified, Annex A3 shall apply for the dimensional tolerancesand not the brack

Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in nonconformancewith the specification.1.4 This specification and the applicable material specifica-ti

Ordering Information4.1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to specify allrequirements that are necessary for material ordered under thisspecification. Such requiremen

23、ts may include, but are notlimited to, the following:4.1.1 Quantity (weight and number of pieces),4.1.2 Name of material (stainless steel),4.1.3 Condition (hot-rolled, cold-rolled, annealed, heat-treated),4.1.4 Finish (see Section 11 for Sheet, Section 12 for Strip, and Section 13 for Plates). In the

24、 case of polished finishes, specify whether one or both sides are to be polished,4.1.5 Temper (if the applicable material specification re-quires this detail),4.1.6 Form (plate, sheet, or strip),4.1.7 Dimensions (thickness, width, length),4.1.7.1 Thickness shall be ordered to decimal or fractionalthi

The gauge number shall not be a basisfor rejection.4.1.7.2 Thickness, width, and length, when applicable, should be ordered in the same units, for example, 0.060 by

26、 48by 120 in. 1.52 by 1219 by 3048 mm.4.1.8 Edge, strip only (see Section 14 for Cold-RolledStrip),4.1.9 Type or UNS designation, refer to the applicablematerial specification,4.1.10 Specification designation and date of issue,4.1.11 Additions to specification or special requirements,4.1.12 Restrict

Process5.1 The steel shall be manufactured/produced by the follow-ing or as specified in the applicable material specification.5.1.1 The steel shall be made by one of the followingprocesses: electric-arc, electric-induction, or other suitableprocesses.5.1.2 If a specific typ

Heat Analysis6.1 Methods and practices relating to chemical analysisshall be in accordance with Test Methods, Practices, andTerminology A751.6.2 An analysis of each heat shall be made by the steelproducer to

30、determine the percentages of the elements specifiedin the applicable material specification. This analysis shall bemade from a test sample taken during the pouring of the melt,or from the in-process product later in the manufacturing flow.6.2.1 The heat analysis shall conform to the chemicalrequirem

It is neitherpractical nor necessary to specify limits for unspecified ele-ments that can

32、 be present. The producer is permitted to analyzefor unspecified elements and is permitted to report suchanalyses. The presence of an unspecified element and thereporting of an analysis for that element shall not be a basis forrejection, unless the presence of that element causes the loss ofa proper

36、to make the requirementsfor any element more stringent, that is, require higher mini-mums for elements having minimum requirements or rangeswith minimum requirements, or requiring lower maximums forelements having specified maximums, or ranges with maxi-mums. The purchaser is not permitted to make c

38、 of chemical analysis.6.3 Except as permitted in 6.3.1, the steel shall not containan unspecified element for the ordered grade to the extent thatthe steel conforms to the requirements of another grade forwhich that element is a specified element having a requiredminimum content. For this requiremen

39、t, a grade is defined asan alloy described individually and identified by its own UNSdesignation in a table of chemical requirements within thisspecification or any specification listed within the scope asbeing covered by the specification.6.3.1 Unless otherwise specified to lower maximum limitson t

40、he purchase order, maximum allowances for unspecifiedelements will be established for Cu, Mo, Ti, and Nb for thespecified grade if the amount of that element present in thematerial conforms with composition limits for that element inanother grade. These allowances are: Cu, 0.75 %; Mo, 0.75 %;Ti, 0.1

41、0 %; and Nb, 0.10 %.6.3.2 If any allowance in 6.3.1 is used to demonstratenon-substitution, then the element involved must be reported asif it were a specified element.6.4 The producer is not permitted to certify that material isin compliance with an ASTM product specification when thepurchase order

42、 has required that the material contain as aminimum or range an element that is neither a specifiedelement nor an intentionally added unspecified element for theordered grade in accordance with the definitions of TestMethods, Practices, and Terminology A751.7. Product Analysis7.1 The purchaser is pe

43、rmitted to perform a product analysis(formerly check analysis) to verify the identity of the finishedmaterial representing each heat or lot. Such analysis shall bemade by any of the commonly accepted methods that willpositively identify the material.7.2 The chemical composition determined in accorda

44、ncewith 7.1 shall conform to the limits of the material specificationwithin the tolerances of Table A1.1, unless otherwise specifiedin the applicable material specification or the purchase order. The allowable variation of a particular element in a singlesample for product analysis is permitted to be

45、 either above orbelow the specified range. However, percentages must exhibitthe same tendencies in all samples; that is, the severaldeterminations of any individual element in a heat shall notvary both above and below the specified range.8. Material Test Report and Certification8.1 Areport of the re

46、sults of all tests required by the productspecification shall be supplied to the purchaser. This materialtest report shall reference the product specification designationand year date indicating that the material was manufactured, sampled, tested, and inspected in accordance with requirementsof the p

47、roduct specification and has been found to meet thoserequirements. The material test report shall report the meltingprocess when the purchase order requires either a specific typeof melting or requires that the melting process used is to bereported.8.1.1 The report shall indicate the type of steel.

48、If certifyingthat the material conforms to the requirements for more thanone type of steel, the manufacturer may indicate each type ofsteel on the report, or may issue a separate report for each typeof steel.8.2 A signature is not required on the report. However, thedocument shall clearly identify t

49、he organization submitting thereport. Not withstanding the absence of a signature, theorganization submitting the document is responsible for itscontent.8.3 Amaterial test report, certificate of inspection, or similardocument printed from or used in electronic form from anelectronic data interchange (EDI) transmission shall be re-garded as having the same validity as a counterpart printed inthe certifiers facility. The content of the EDI transmitteddocument must meet the requirements of the invoked ASTMstandard(s) and conform to any existing EDI agreemen
