3、 grades of carbon-manganese-silicon steel plates intended primarily for service in weldedpressure vessels where improved low temperature notch toughness is important.1.2 The maximum thickness of plates is limited only by the capacity of the composition to meet the specified mechanicalproperty requir

4、ements; however, current practice normally limits the maximum thickness of plates furnished under thisspecification to 2 in. 50 mm.1.3 GradesA, B, and C comply substantially with the requirements of ISO Pressure Vessel Steels P9, P15, and P18, respectively.1.4 For plates produced from coil and furni

5、shed without heat treatment or with stress relieving only, the additional requirements,including additional testing requirements and the reporting of additional test results, of Specification A20/A20M apply.1.5 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as

These requirements outline the testing and retesting methods and procedures, permitted variations indimensions, and mass, quality and repair of defects, marking, loading, and ordering

10、 information.3.2 In addition to the basic requirements of this specification, certain supplementary requirements are available when additionalcontrol, testing, or examination is required to meet end use requirements. The purchaser is referred to the listed supplementaryrequirements in this specifica

11、tion and to the detailed requirements in SpecificationA20/A20Malso establishes the rules for orderinginformation that should be complied with when purchasing plates to this specification.3.3In addition to the basic requirements of this specification certain supplementary requirements are available w

13、 specification until they are processed into finished plates. Platesproduced from coil means plates that have been cut to individual lengths from coil. Manufacture4.1 Steelmaking PracticeThe steel shall be killed and shall conform to

21、 the fine austenitic grain size requirement ofSpecification A20/A20M.5. Heat Treatment5.1 All plates of Grade A and plates of Grades B and C over 112 in. 40 mm in thickness shall be normalized.5.2 Plates of Grades B and C, 112 in. 40 mm and under in thickness, are normally supplied in the as-rolled

22、condition. Theplates may be ordered normalized or stress relieved, or both.6. Chemical Requirements6.1 The steel shall conform to the requirements as to chemical composition given in Table 1 unless otherwise modified inaccordance with Supplementary Requirement S17, Vacuum Carbon-Deoxidized Steel, in
