Scope*1.1 This specification covers five grades of as-

3、welded, wrought austenitic stainless steel fittings for low-pressure piping andintended for low and moderate temperatures and general corrosive service. Users should note that certain corrosive conditions mayrestrict the use of one or more grades. For applications requiring a product that requires h

4、eat treatment or full pressure rating, referto Specification A403/A403M. The term “fittings” applies to butt and socket welding parts such as 45 and 90 elbows, tees,reducers, wyes, laterals, crosses, and stub ends.1.2 This specification covers as-welded fittings 3 through 48 in. 75 through 1225 mm i

5、n outside diameter and in nominal wallthicknesses 0.062 through 0.500 in. 1.6 through 12.7 mm. Table 1 and Table 2 list the common diameters and nominal thicknessesof fittings in this specification.1.3 This specification does not apply to cast fittings. Cast austenitic steel fittings are covered by

6、Specification A351/A351M.1.4 Optional supplementary requirements are provided for fittings where a greater degree of examination is desired. Thesesupplementary requirements call for additional tests. When desired, one or more of these may be specified in the order.1.5 This specification is expressed

7、 in both inch-pound units and in SI units. However, unless the order specifies the applicable“M” specification designation (SI units), the material shall be furnished to inch-pound units.1.6 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within th

8、e text, the SI unitsare shown in brackets. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be usedindependently of the other. General Requirements4.1 Product furnished to this specification shall conform to the requirements of Specification A960/A960M, including anysupplementary requirements that

19、are indicated in the purchase order. Failure to comply with the requirements of SpecificationA960/A960M constitutes non-conformance with this specification. In case of a conflict between the requirements of thisspecification and Specification A960/A960M, this specification shall prevail.5. Manufactu

20、re5.1 The fittings shall be made from flat-rolled steel, such as in Specification A240/A240M. The flat rolled steel shall be in thesolution annealed condition unless other heat treat conditions are agreed upon by the manufacturer and the purchaser. The fittingsshall be formed by a hot or cold proces

25、and free of scale.5.3 Welding:5.3.1 The joints shall be full penetration double-welded or single-welded butt joints employing fusion-welding processes withor without the addition of filler metal as defined under Definitions, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX. Thisspecification makes n

26、o provision for any difference in weld quality requirements regardless of the weld joint-type employed (singleor double) in making the weld. Welding procedures and welding operators shall be qualified in accordance withASME Boiler andPressure Vessel Code, Section IX.5.3.2 For fittings employing mult

27、iple passes, the root-pass may be made without the addition of filler metal.5.3.3 The alloy content (chromium, nickel, molybdenum, columbium, and tantalum) of the deposited weld metal shall conformto that required of the base metal or for equivalent weld metal as given in the AWS filler metal specif

28、ication A5.4 or A5.9, exceptthat, when welding on Types 304L base metal, the deposited weld metal shall correspond, respectively, to AWS Types E308L(ER308L) and, when welding on Type 321 base metal, the weld metal shall correspond to AWS Types E347 (ER347 or ER321).6. Chemical Composition6.1 The ste

29、el shall conform to requirements of chemical composition for the respective material prescribed in Table 3.6.2 The purchaser may make a product analysis on products made to this specification in accordance with SpecificationA960/A960M.6.3 The steel shall not contain any unspecified elements for the

30、ordered grade to the extent that it conforms to the requirementsof another grade for which that element is a specified element having a required minimum content.6.4 Mill certificates of analysis of each heat of steel shall be furnished on request.7. Mechanical Properties7.1 The material used in maki

Heat Treatment8.1 Heat treatment is not required (see 16.1).9. Permissible Variations in Nominal Dimensions9.1 Re

38、fer to MSS SP 43 for tolerances for fittings covered by this specification. For fittings not covered in MSS SP 43 (wyesand laterals) acceptance limits must be agreed upon between the purchaser and manufacturer.10. Hydrostatic Tests10.1 Hydrostatic testing of the fittings is not required by this spec

39、ification.11. Surface Quality11.1 See Specification A960/A960M.11.2 When the removal of a surface discontinuity reduces the wall thickness below 8712 % of the specified nominal wallthickness at any point, the fitting shall be subject to rejection or to repair as provided in Section 14.12. Inspection

40、12.1 The manufacturer shall afford the purchasers inspector all reasonable facilities necessary to satisfy him that the materialis being furnished in accordance with the specification. Mill inspection by the purchaser shall not interfere unnecessarily with themanufacturers operations. All tests and

41、inspections shall be made at the place of manufacture, unless otherwise agreed to.12.2 Other tests, when required by agreement, shall be made from material of the lots covered in the order.NOTE 1A lot shall consist of all fittings of the same type, size, and wall thickness, manufactured from one hea

42、t of material and using one lot numberof electrode or one heat of weld wire.13. Repair of Defects13.1 Injurious defects that are deeper than the minimum specified in Section 12 may be repaired with the approval of thepurchaser. Such defects shall be entirely removed by either chipping, machining, or

43、 grinding before welding. Rewelding shall bein accordance with 5.3 of this specification.14. Rejection and Rehearing14.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements of this specification may be rejected. Rejection should be reported to theproducer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case

44、of dissatisfaction with the results of the test, the producer or supplier maymake claim for rehearing.14.2 Fittings that develop defects in shop working or application operations may be rejected. Upon rejection the manufacturershall be notified in writing.15. Certification15.1 See Test reports are r

45、equired for all fittings covered by this specification. Each test report shall meet the requirements forcertification in Specification A960/A960M. as well as include the following information specific to this specification:15.1.1 Chemical analysis results, Section 6 (Table 3), reported results shall

46、 be to the same number of significant figures as thelimits specified in Table 3 for that element.15.1.2 Tensile property results, Section 7 (Table 2) report yield strength and tensile strength in ksi MPa and elongation inpercent, and15.1.3 Any supplementary testing required by the purchase order.16.

47、 Product Marking16.1 Each fitting shall be legibly marked with the manufacturers name or brand, the schedule number or pressure class orthickness, the specified size, the specification number, the grade of material listedIn addition to marking requirements ofSpecification A960/A960M in Table 1, the
