Chemical Composition5.1 Th
21、e heat chemical composition shall be reported to thepurchaser, or his representative, and shall conform to therequirements for the specified grade as listed in Table 2.5.2 For the purpose of chemical analysis, a lot shall consistof all floor plates and sheets made from the same heat. In casethe mate
22、rial cannot be identified by melt or heat, a lot shallconsist of not more than 25 tons (22.7 Mg) of floor plates andsheets offered for delivery at the same time.5.3 One sample of suitable size shall be selected from eachlot identified by heat. When the material cannot be identifiedby melt or heat, f
23、ive separate samples from each lot shall beselected. Samples may be taken from bend test specimensrepresentative of the lot. The chemical compositions thusdetermined shall conform to the expanded tolerances forproduct analysis shown in Table 2 of Specification A 480/A 480M. If any sample fails to co

Each of the specimens shall be takenfrom a different plate.6.2.2 The specimens shall be bent cold, with the figures inthe inside of the bend test specimens, through an angle of 180flat on itself. The raised figures shall not be removed and thematerial shall not fracture nor develop cracks o

In the case of failure of any ofthe bend test specimens to conform, this shall be cause forrejection of the lot represented by the sample (see TestMethods and Definitions A 370).6.3 Magnetic Permeability Test:6.3.1 When magnetic permeability is specified,

The samples shall be large enoughthat any cold work induced by cutting the sample from themaster plate shall not affect the magnetic permeability test. Thesample shall be tested in the as mill annealed condition.6.3.3 The magnetic pe
