、Designation: A888 13aStandard Specification forHubless Cast Iron Soil Pipe and Fittings for Sanitary andStorm Drain, Waste, and Vent Piping Applications1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A888; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption o
、r, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers hubless cast iron soil pipe andfittings for use in g
、ravity flow applications. It establishesstandards covering material, manufacture, mechanical andchemical properties, dimensions, coating, test methods, inspection, certification, and product marking for hubless castiron soil pipe and fittings. These pipe and fittings are intendedfor non-pressure appl
、ications, as the selection of the propersize for sanitary drain, waste, vent, and storm drain systemsallows free air space for gravity drainage.1.2 The EDP/ASA numbers indicated in this section repre-sent a Uniform Industry Code adopted by theAmerican SupplyAssociation (ASA). A group designation pre
、fix, 022, is as-signed to hubless products, followed by the four-digit identi-fication assigned to individual items and a check digit. Thissystem has been instituted to facilitate EDP control throughdistribution channels, and is to be used universally in orderingand specifying product items. Those i
