2、ision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope*1.1 This specification covers two types and two grades of 2-and 3-wire, uncoated steel strand for use
3、 in pretensioned andposttensioned prestressed concrete construction. The two typesof strand are low-relaxation and stress-relieved (normal-relaxation). Low-relaxation shall be regarded as the standardtype. Stress-relieved (normal-relaxation) strand will not befurnished unless specifically ordered, o

Grades 250 and 270 have minimum tensilestrengths of 1725 MPa (250 ksi) and 1860 MPa (270 ksi)respectively, based on the nominal area of the strand.1.2 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI uni

The values statedin each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, eachsystem must be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in nonconformancewith the spe

If this gage length exceeds thecapacity of the extensometer or the testing machine, then it ispermitted to substitute a minimum gage length of 40 times thenominal diameter of the strand.7. Dimensions and Permissible Variations7.1 The size of the finished strand shall be expressed as thed

The breaking strength shallbe defined, and the yield strength, as defined in 6.3, shall not beless than 90 % and 85 % of the specified minimum breakingstrength for low-relaxation and stress-relieved (normal-relaxat

Workmanship, Finish and Appearance8.1 Joints:8.1.1 There shall be no strand splices in any length of thecompleted strand.8.1.2 There shall be no wire welds made in the finishedstrands. During manufacturing of individual wires for strand-ing, welding
